Mountain View Lodges

It is the only place to stay for the best views. So convenient and comfy. The wooden swing and fire ring were such a treat. It was clean and had everything we needed. We plan to be back every year!!

Beware. Although on trip advisor it indicate they are pet friendly, they are not. We brought our family (some flew in from different continents to be here) here and our service dog. We communicated that we have a service dog. We were only there for 2 days. We vacuumed the place before we left and they charged us a surprise cleaning fee. It would be a different story if they were upfront but they were not. We did not appreciate their poor communication on this matter and their fake pet friendliness. Will be taking my business elsewhere.

If you’re looking for a real Lake Superior this is the place to be this year was our fifth visit!! Only eight miles to Lake of the Clouds and Porkies. Close enough to Houghton and Copper Harbor for day trips. Thanks to Rick and Jen for their kindness and hospitality we will be back!

We stayed with Mountain view lodges in Oct of 2022. First the cabins are beautifully decorated in a mountain cabin motif. Cabins are clean and comfortable. The location is about as close to the Porcupine Mountains State Park as one can get. Located directly on the Lake Superior shoreline. We enjoyed beach bonfires, and sunsets. Hiking in the Porkies is fantastic. Lake in the clouds is a must see, and the Summit peak was an awesome hike to the top. Save some time for chasing waterfalls too. Back to the cabin, do note this is a place to "unplug" cell phone receptions is spotty to non-existent. The cabins do have WIFI if you must connect to the outside world. We found the kitchen well appointed with all the necessary items to prepare meals. Even a crock pot for set it and forget it meals. Their is a small gas station / party store if you forget some essentials. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend to any travelers.

My husband and I have been here several times over the years. Have always loved staying here. The cabins are spotless and the owners are great people. This year I came with a son and his family. They fell in love with it. The view is outstanding.From a campfire on the beach to magnificent sunsets and dipping your toes into Lake Superior it is definitly a place to come back to again and again.

Just spent 2 nights here as part of a 2 week road trip and loved it! There was a warm welcome when we arrived, and we found the accommodation to be spotless and have everything we would need for our stay. There was ample space to sit out and we watched the sun set over Lake Superior both nights. There was a nearby general store and couple of eateries, and we visited Lake on the clouds and Bonanza waterfalls which were not far away at all. We’d love to return here in future for a longer stay, and would certainly recommend it.

Mountain View Lodges was a great place to stay. I had all the amenities needed and close to the Porgies. Cabins were clean and well maintained. A binder was provided with loads of information about the area. Jeni was also very helpful. I looked at other places to stay but could not learn enough about the accommodations just from the web site. Mountain View Lodges has a web site that is easy to use and had pictures that represented the facilities well. I would stay here again with out looking at other options.

This is a first class accommodation in a 5 star place. The Mountain View served as a fine home base for our trips into Porcupine State Park. It also provided a great place to relax after the day’s hike. We enjoyed the sunsets over Lake Superior as well as walks on the beach. What a stay!

Nice modern clean cabins right next to beautiful Lake Superior! Cabins have just about everything you need except food and personal items. Nice screen room, front porch and ski storage attached to cabin. We liked the little side porch to store our bikes out of the rain. The only downside: there is a day fee for guests to visit you!! and no guarantee a cabin on the beach without a 7 day reservation.
