This is not a relaxing hotel, but instead a loud party hostel with budget facilities: Music noise - the Banana Beach Club plays very loud music from the afternoon to 10pm which vibrates throughout the room. We were also woken up several times in the early by parties on the beach. You will get very limited sleep staying here. Pool - Most days non-guests use the pool, including loud and rude kids, and on one occasion a kid forced their dog into the pool. Generally it is very dated and very little care is taken in tidiness. Noise from the generators next to pool is constant. Reception - no fixed reception service as a hotel would typically have - one person is available at a “reception” kiosk room between 9am and 4pm. Any assistance needed outside these hours is made via WhatsApp so is not instant. Also we had a power cut for water and electricity on our second day, so could not receive updates as the WiFi was unavailable. Restaurant - the restaurant and hotel are completely separate, apart from the breakfast being complementary for guests, and this is unclear from the website as we only found out upon arrival. This means guests can’t freely use the beach loungers or set up a room tab for food/drinks. No explanation of breakfast, timings - got there at 7am only to be told it starts at 8am so we missed this several times from leaving early for tours/transfer etc. Room - No kettle, coffee machine but no powdered milk/crema. Fridge outside (not in room) and doesn’t open properly as gets caught by the cupboard door latch - kitchen light very dim so difficult to see. Only one bedside table so had to leave belongings on the floor. No clothes hangers or even hooks.

Please don’t book here, turtles come to lay their eggs in the sand and they put chairs and tables killing them, they don’t care turtles just Money . Arab owners only care about making money and don't care about the animals. Don’t book here, help Costa Rica preserve wildlife 🙏🏻

This establishment blatantly disregards Costa Rican laws that prohibit placing furniture on public beaches, which are national assets belonging to all citizens. Their repeated violations of these regulations pose a threat to local wildlife. According to Costa Rican law, the Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zona Marítimo Terrestre) encompasses the area from the high tide line up to 200 meters inland. The first 50 meters of this zone are designated as public property, where permanent structures or furniture placement is prohibited without proper authorization. This regulation aims to preserve the natural environment and ensure public access to beaches. By placing furniture within this public zone without authorization, the establishment is violating these legal provisions, thereby endangering the local ecosystem in processes such as the turtle's reproduction cycle and restricting public access to the beach.

The room is very simple, quite sadly furnished and dirty. The general assistance is quite poor due to the limited. Be carefull to organize activities with them cause they will charge you more money just to keep something for themselves. The Banana Beach Club is very bad. The worst drinks I had in all Costa Rica. Staff very improfessional!!!!

Banana Beach Restaurant Is highly recommended . It’s a “must visit “ when staying in Santa Teresa Costs Rica . Whether you’re on a business trip friends or family vacation or a couples getaway. This restaurant offers an amazing menu of delicious food great health juices smoothies and drinks 🍹 Amazing 🤩 breakfast and wonderful friendly service all day long …..🏝️ It’s located on the beach . There’s a gorgeous atmosphere music and entertainment. So peaceful ☺️

Great massage, not a bad price but be careful of your belongings, the lady took off my necklace and I didn’t get it back. I have called and messaged 5 people from managers to workers and no one wants to give me info on how to get it back. It is the massage on the beach, but the management knows who she is

The bungalow is way too expensive for what you get! We were not at all satisfied with the room and cannot recommend this hotel. Although we communicated all the points below, we did not receive an acceptable discount. - The TV did not work - the temperature of the shower could not be regulated. The water came out of the shower alternating between boiling hot and cold. - We had an incredible number of insects in the room. Ants and spiders, because between the main door and the floor was a gap of about one centimeter and they can just crawl in. Our clothes were full with ants! - The safe was defective and could not be used - The reception was not available like described and partly occupied.

Pros Good room Air conditioned Cleaned daily Decent shower Good space Very close to beach and as surfers this was unreal Restaurant for food and cocktails Fantastic restaurants nearby amazing surf and a lovely vibe Cons Dirty swimming pool - saw dogs in it regularly Very noisy - lots of road noise and there is some kind of ‘works’ next door where lorries leave engines running for long periods. Sleeping a problem Stray cats that fight in the night Stray dogs in the pool area You will hear party noise which didn’t bother us but may other families or couples Restaurant attached on the expensive side but believe this is a separate business to the ‘hotel’ Office only open about 2 hours a day but very responsive on WhatsApp Was really close to giving a 4 star but the noise and murky pool just makes it difficult to justify.
