Carmel Valley Lodge

We have been going to the Carmel Valley Lodge since 1995, enjoying this tranquil piece of heaven now through 4 dogs and I believe several of the Lodge owners. We may be the longest-tenured visitors. I especially love the gardens and the quiet there, and in the village too, which is far less pretentious and busy than Carmel. The owners are always upgrading to keep the older property up to date. They serve a very nice breakfast which you can enjoy in a dining room, outside in the garden or in your room. The staff are all very kind and friendly. Parking is close to your room. The pool is large, always clean, with lots of chairs and lounges.

Stepping back into country time at this charming getaway feels like coming home. The place is personable, quiet, and quaint, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the highlights of the stay is the complimentary farm-to-table breakfast, a delightful way to start the day with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I love Carmel Valley Lodge! This is my second stay and I am very happy that I did so. Everything about the lodge is charming and enjoyable. The rooms are very nice and most importantly, my bed was extremely comfortable. We were just steps away from the heated pool and spa which were imaculate. There are numerous spots on site to sit or stroll and enjoy the gardens. The included breakfast is delicious. The staff and owner were all very nice, professional and helpful.

A wonderful get away. Staff couldn’t be nicer and location is great. We go every year during the Quail Motorcycle Event. Breakfast is included and very good. It’s an older property that is well kept and has a lot of charm. Not all rooms are air conditioned. If planning a stay in warm weather be sure to ask for one that is.

Very comfortable quiet room. The staff was very friendly and the surroundings are lovely. There is a large heated pool.

My wife and I enjoyed staying at Caramel Valley Lodge. Our unit was very cozy, clean, and quiet and the host was very welcoming! And thank you for the complimentary breakfast which was freshly made with high quality. We hope we can come back again in the near future :)

We stayed at the Lodge for 2 nights as a home base to explore Big Sur. What a wonderful property with a warm staff. The room (#18) was huge with a gas fireplace and patio with seating. They're right to advertise their bedding because those were some of the softest sheets I've ever felt in my life! The only small issue we had was that the shower, while it has good temperature and pressure, feels like a modified garden hose! But I would absolutely book here again...mainly for the chance to see little Sophie, the owners' adorable pup.

My friend and I met up in Carmel for a girls weekend and had a truly lovely time. The staff at Carmel Valley lodge is lovely and kind. The room was comfortable and the fireplace made all the difference as it ended up being a chilly, rainy time. There was ample parking right outside our room and the continental breakfast was the best I had. It included many options but my favorites were the warm croissants right from the oven, the blueberry yogurt parfait (just enough) and the fresh strawberries were super sweet- grown locally I am assuming! There is also a lovely village close by with great restaurants- our favorite was the Trailside Cafe. We ate there for lunch and another time for breakfast! Both delicious and would highly recommend. Also secluded and quiet away from all the hustle bustle, but only a stone’s throw (11 miles) to Carmel by the Sea and close to 17 Mile drive and Monterey. We will definitely be back!

Check in service was very friendly. Room was clean and cozy. Breakfast service was very tasty. We have all our out of town guests stay at the lodge. The pool is wonderful and the location is easy walking distance to the village. The gift shop has some great local treasures to shop for.
