The Royal Islander – An All Suites Resort

服務絕對是世界上最差的酒店，沒有之一，朋友來拜訪，連酒店大廳都進不了，氣的都沒有入住。 Do not stay at this hotel , never , it is a trash hotel with rude stuff at the reception.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. The rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. We had opted for a mini-suite with two rooms joined, which meant we could share the apartment with relatives. Pool was big and not crowded, friendly staff and guests. Lots of engaging kids activities, shout-out to Jasmine! Our kids speak Spanish but she also included English-speaking kids. We also used the beach front which had beds exclusive for hotel guests, however we hit the season of lots of sea ****. Yet the tractor cleared beach every morning and sunrise was romantic. Breakfast buffet was rich and varied, custom omelettes if you wanted a change from lovely Mexican food. Tacos and BBQ was delicious! Helpful concierge and generally friendly staff, everyone greets you and makes you feel welcome and safe. Location means you need transport for anywhere you go. You can visit any of the Royal hotels with a free shuttle and pay with same hotel key card, which gives variety. Prices are of course accordingly not low, but at level for a 4-star in Cancún, which I think was worth the extra.

I have stayed at the Royal Islander for the past 30 years. As initially planned, it is sold and closed. I would like to recognize 2 people in particular that normally don’t get too many accolades: Jocelyn Castillo, day manager of the resort and Osmar, longtime maid for building 7 beachfront penthouse units. Jocelyn attention to every detail makes her manager of the year for the Royal Resorts in my opinion. Osmar is the best maid I have ever had. Hopefully I can see these people sometime in the future. Got a room full of sand on the floor, pinna colada on the beach bar without taste, cold rice on the main restaurant, slow service on the beach area. People very nice. Bathroom tub and toilet were not 100 % cleaned.

Beautiful well kept property. Staff is excellent. Food was very good. We came here to live on the beach and in the ocean all day. Gorgeous pool that we never got in. We never left the resort the entire week, and it had everything we needed to completely relax and unwind. Full condo style suite, 1 befroom condo or two with the adjoining lockout bedroom, which is like an additional hotel room. Market on site and 3 restaurants as well as coffee/icecream shop. Beach was well kept as well with ample loungers, chairs, side tables and natural umbrellas. There was a playground set for kids on a side lawn. There was a beach lifeguard on duty until 7pm. This is not an all-inclusive place which we loved. We are not big drinkers, so we saved a lot of money over what all-inclusive fees are these days! Restaurants had a good variety of offerings. The market had almond and coconut milk and fresh fruits and frozen veggies, a variety of items for vegetarians and vegans. Restaurants were great with food allergies and helping people with different diets. The waiters asked about food allergies every time. My husband and I had a great time here. It was quieter than most resorts and very chill. Good spa, I had 2 massages that were very good. Would definitely book here again!

This review is for the incredible manager Joselyn Mosqueda of Royal Islander. Joselyn was truly the most helpful manager I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. She was very informative regarding questions I had and diplomatic on reviewing the answers with me whether they were good ones or bad. Taking the time to fully explain some of the programs was important to her as she ensured I understood them completely. She also went above and beyond with accommodating our request for a unit we had exchanged into one that was perfectly suited for my husband who uses a power wheelchair. She ensured our needs were met and even followed up during the week to ensure we had been accommodated well and to see if she could be of further service. She is a top notch manager and you need to keep her on staff at another of our Royal properties as she truly is a person who listens to us members and does whatever she can possibly do (although not always easy) to ensure we get top notch customer/member service. Please keep her on staff.
