Hotel Cajamarca

Stayed for one night as part of a three-week birding trip to North Peru. This is a beautiful old hotel with carved wooden doors and panelling and a fountain in the centre of a comfortable communal area. The room was pleasant with thick, firm mattresses and good quality bedding. The shower heat was good and the flow reasonable. There was also hot water in the basin. The staff were all very friendly and we enjoyed a lovely brandy-based welcome drink at the bar (although service was a bit slow). Our evening meals were all good and included trout in garlic sauce, chicken and spag' bol'. The buffet breakfast was of equal quality and included lovely rolls, good coffee, fruit and cheese etc. WiFi was good. The location is excellent, close to the central square in the historical area. The price for al this was pretty reasonable. Recommended!

La excelente ubicación a una cuadra de la Plaza de Armas de Cajamarca acompañado de un inmejorable servicio hacen de este Hotel un lugar para recomendar y para regresar. Y ni hablar del Restaurante Los Faroles que se ubica dentro de sus instalaciones que tiene una variada carta con muy bien elaborados platos y esmerada atención.

No tenian botiquin, se les pidio calentar una comida en el microondas y a pesar que informaron que si podian no sabian usarlo, la comida llego luego de 1 hora de espera y fria. La mejor trabajadora fue Janet..se preocupo de que no nos falte nada sobretodo en los desayunos y buscaba que tengamos lo que requeriamos.
