Hotel Leopold

We booked this as a hotel through Agoda but a few days before we were told we would need to collect our key from the nearby hostel. We were then taken to our room, through a doorway from a narrow alley and up two flights of steep stairs. The first thing you are greeted with is a sign on the kitchen cupboard stating that dishes must be washed, dried and put away or you would be fined €50! To say the photographs of the family room are generous would be a huge understatement - it was dark and dingy. The sheets were stained and torn and there were holes in the walls. We decided immediately that we would not be staying but needed to move our vehicle as we have only 20 minutes of parking. By the time we returned to say that we were checking out, we were told that no refund could be provided and we would have to take it up with Agoda or *********** Upon our return, we did this and were offered $90 in vouchers towards another stay - for a booking that had cost us €335! Avoid at all costs - we found a lovely little camping ground an hour's walk out of the city!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Hands down the worst experience of a hotel I have ever had the displeasure of having. The rooms are grubby, they are over priced for what they are. The rooms are disgusting, the walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything from other guests and/or resident's. Including every step anyone and everyone seems to make in the whole hotel. No air con. Every single time anyone goes to the toilet you will hear it in detail. The beds are RIDDLED with bugs (we left covered in bites). The location is the only redeeming quality but trust me when I say; THIS HOTEL IS AWFUL and YOU WILL REGRET IT. Save your money. Stay elsewhere. If you value rest, this hotel sucks. It is NOT A GOOD PLACE TO STAY. Honestly, you’d be more comfortable on the cobbles of the square. This hotel is horrendous.

Absolutely wonderful two night stay at Collier’s. Everything was perfect and I can’t fault any aspect of our stay. We booked direct and at the very last minute so was pleasantly surprised with our spontaneous decision to stay in Bruge instead of Ghent. The natural surroundings, park and lake are beautiful and romantic! Check in was super quick and nearby free parking meant that we didn’t have to worry about topping up parking payments. Breakfast was delicious; eggs, jams, fruit, yogurt, meats, warm croissants/bread and fresh coffee. Plentiful and good quality. We stayed in a small but cosy room on the second floor. All the small details, super comfy bed and quiet surrounding made have it a cottage like feel and we wished we could have stayed longer. Based in a central location, a few minutes from the market square and another 5 mins to the Belfry Tower. The Saturday market is not to be missed! Lots of great recommendations from the hosts, from dinner to flower shopping. Above all, the hosts were the highlight of our stay. Friendly, genuine, flexible and helpful - no request was too much for them. This is a really special B&B and we look forward to returning in the future.

Hotel Leopold heeft op meerdere punten helaas niet aan de verwachtingen voldaan. Het enige positieve was het vriendelijke meisje bij de receptie, die ons welkom heette met een glimlach. Helaas eindigde de goede ervaring daar. Bij binnenkomst was de entree volledig opengebroken, waardoor er een leeg en kil gevoel ontstond. De sfeer was ver te zoeken. De trap naar boven was smal en steil, wat zeker niet ideaal was, vooral als je bagage bij je had. De kamer zelf was klein, ongezellig en functioneel minimaal ingericht. Het smalle bed, geplaatst onder een raam dat vanwege de herrie buiten niet open kon, droeg niet bij aan een comfortabele nachtrust. Tot overmaat van ramp werkte de televisie niet, en was er geen enkel glas om uit te drinken, wat een basale voorziening zou moeten zijn in elk hotel. De grootste teleurstelling was echter de badkamer. Deze was niet schoon, en de douche gaf slechts een dun straaltje water, dat bovendien koud werd zodra er elders in het gebouw water gebruikt werd. Al met al deed de accommodatie eerder denken aan een opvang voor daklozen dan aan een hotel. De naam "Leopold" doet luxe vermoeden, maar dit verblijf was daar verre van.

Hotel situato tra la stazione e il centro, in una zona tranquilla, vicino a bar e minimarket. Check in in una struttura nei paraggi con personale gentile e disponibile. Scale ripidissime e pericolose trasportando il trolley, serratura della porta della camera datata e poco sicura. Camera spaziosa, bagno con un bel box doccia, cambio solo di alcuni asciugamani a caso e non c'è stata la pulizia e non è stato rifatto il letto.

Poco più di un ostello ma stanze carine e pulite, bagno spazioso, posizione centralissima, vicinissima alla stazione del treno e parcheggio della stazione, l’unica cosa che non va e’ la poca pulizia negli ambienti comuni (entrata, zona caffè, scale) Scale ripidissime ma considerando l’ambientazione credo sia un luogo comune.
