The Regal Hotel

We have just arrived back home after 3 days at the regal ,we booked Monday to Friday but came home on Thursday ,our room was very nice but the bar closed at 9 o'clock, I went down to get a couple of beers ,everything was in darkness ,the evening dinner was the same choice everyday ,steak pie or salad this is not acceptable for the money you are charged ,a beer at the bar is £5 10p ,so just over 10 pounds every time you go to the bar ,the staff are very nice ,we made a good few friends while we were there ,this hotel needs to get a grip or close down ,the TV in our room was just 5 channels so not much to watch ,so we got really fed up and just decided to go home early ,if you are looking for a good holiday give the regal a miss it is not really worth the cost ,we will not be going again ,now under new management so it could do with a complete overhaul ,

Very friendly and clean hotel , a little outdated in places however the hotel is under new management and improvements are being made.The breakfast are excellent and plentiful comprising of tea or coffee, cereals ,full English breakfast (bacon, sausage ,fried bread , hash browns , tomatoes ,beans , fried eggs and toast ) all help yourself buffet. The staff are very helpful and friendly with the owners being on site and working to make your stay extremely pleasant .All in all a very good hotel

/isroom and staff fine,stayed several times before at weekend and been happy, this time came sun to wed .we are elderly with mobility problems so nighttime has been spent in your public bar .on this occasion bar was shut in evening also residents bar not open. unable to get a drink on licenced premises is pathetic,need to buck your game up.v

I've never stayed in the regal but visited sometimes several times a year for many many years to have a drink and usually some good old pub grub. We passed this afternoon and thought we'd pop in Obvious straight away the food options have changed drastically out have gone the hot pot , pies etc and it's now baguettes or pizzas . But times change each to their own we thought , we'll grab a drink and eat elsewhere. My lovely wife took a seat ,which wasn't difficult as it's just about as empty as we've ever seen the place and I trotted to the bar. There was a lady being served ,I waited my turn at the same time two regular old geezers came to the bar. The barman finished serving the lady looked directly at me ,I started talking got as far as " a pint of.." at which point one of the old geezers butted in two pints of boddingtons and two vodkas and coke using the barmans name which I've forgotten. The barman didn't miss a beat just straight away started serving these obviously regular old geezers That's fine by me if that's the way the winds blowing these days ,the place is obviously on its **** so you just keep ignoring paying customers Mr barman ,you can write that on your CV when you're on the dole.

Just had a long weekend staying at the regal very clean comfortable beds excellent breakfast and very friendly helpful staff . Karioki Friday and Saturday night's is a bit loud if you going to bed early but it is entertaining had a really enjoyable stay will be coming back

Lovely hotel lovely rooms but do not stay here if you want a nights sleep karaoke down stairs friday and Saturday night the noise after in the street is terrible you mite get to sleep before 2am if your lucky and then 8.15 on a sunday morning there are delivery's would not recommend this hotel if you want a rest
