Here's an improved version: "Our experience was quite disappointing. We stayed for only one night, but were charged for two a month later. Initially, when I inquired about extending our stay, there was no issue. However, when I tried to contact them about the overcharge, they did not respond and later refused to issue a refund. It's a shame that such practices exist. Think twice before booking with them."

Renovated interior with a chic look, however the toilet was pretty dark. Could do with better lightings.

We had read the reviews before we booked so we knee that some people seemed to love it and others not like it so much. We really liked it and would go back again - sure the bathroom was a little tired, but everything still worked well. Room was nice, staff were really friendly and thoughtful, and the room was warm and comfortable. Breakfast was also rather good. We will go again.

This hotel is simply superb! Every corner filled with creativity, surprises and carefully planned. Loved everything it had to offer including hot tub, sauna, sumptuous breakfast and dinner at Blaq. The stunning autumnal colours of Blackheath the and the property were the icing on the cake. Was thinking of keeping this a secret, but it really is too good not to share.

The KYAH looks so lovely on the internet and upon arrival in the public spaces as well as at first glimpse in the room. However, once you look more in detail as you stay in the room and would like to have a good time relaxing and enjoying the Blue Mountains, you will discover, it is not worth the price. Design ist nice and fancy, however the bathrooms will need some refurbishment soon. Nonetheless, I have never seen so much mould in the room itself. This is very dangerous, especially when you not just for one night and are with your whole family including Infant. I have never seen so wet windows after just sleeping which explains the mould. In addition, after having a shower the whole bathrooms hast hundreds of drops from the very low ceiling. While adressing these problems to staff, no real interest in solving the problems were shown. While the remote control was not working, this was solved quickly by replacing batteries. Breakfast was very disappointing. E.g. toast was empty and it was said, there is none anymore available. However, while having a glimpse to the kitchen, there was a full package of toast handled by one of the kitchen staff, but not for the tiny buffet. Dinner at BLAQ was tasty and staff very nice. The rest ist design and in my personal opinion very disappointing and way too expensive "hospitality". Better going elsewhere next time.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely boutique hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We loved the grounds, especially the vegetable gardens and chicken sooo. Th y had these lovely sitting areas where you could enjoy a drink and read to your hearts content. The ease of booking the extras like their amazing hot tub, sauna and bikes for hire was fantastic. We enjoyed the forest walks and quaint township.

Very nice hotel. The place is beautiful. Kyah Hotel is amazing. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel is in a great location and has nice amenities. Would highly recommend staying here.

Building still going , staffing at the bare minimum with the slowest service for breakfast and dinner , along with not minding still charging top dollar . Some of th etch doesn’t work and my response to a complaint was along the lines of , there is nothing to complain about . Who wants to complain to the poor beleaguered wait staff who are grateful that you have not joined in on the unhappiness, when you are trying to enjoy yourself over a meal after waiting an hour to have your order taken , watching the other patrons melt down around you and be told that there were no problems with the service that evening. The mud puddle carpark and hassling to get out at 1000 with breakfast running late was also a pest , I am sure they will answer this review telling me it’s my fault …

We chose the Kyah as we were playing golf at Blackheath GC and were curious to see how they had updated the old Redleaf Resort. They have done a very nice update and we had a lovely stay. We used our NSW vouchers so cost was only $140….is it worth $240 …..which is the usual rate….I’m not sure how it compares with other places in that regard. Everyone was very friendly and we had a fabulous meal at Blaq (separate review). The room was spacious and comfortable although I found the pillows far too big. The lighting in the bathroom was a bit too dark. The lady in the restaurant Jessica was fantastic and will be in my review of the restaurant. I’m sure once all the landscaping is done it will also look lovely from the outside. In my opinion one of the best assets is Digger the Kelpie who met us at the car and was around quite a bit outside for cuddles and just a fabulous calm beautiful dog. I would recommend and definitely stay again.

Kyah has lovely staff, cute furnishings that are very instagrammable, but at essence it’s an old motel and you feel that. I’d expect a more luxe experience for $300 a night, but you’re in a room that feels kind of huge and soulless (no art on the walls??) and cheap in that 1960s travelling salesman way. It also has parquetry flooring rather than carpet, which is cold and a bit 😩 in winter. It all just feels like you’re in an old cheap motel where they’ve added a few fancy hooks on the walls and a splash of paint in the fruitless attempt to distract you from what it really is. Nice restaurant though and the staff are truly lovely. The stored blanket really needs a wash though - when we put it on the bed for warmth, it pilled thousands of bits of dark blue fluff all over the white bed.

I had not thoroughly researched this property past its website. First impressions, via telephone, were all friendly and polished and they generously allowed me to shorten my stay by one night with just over 24 hours notice. This was gracious as I was expecting to still be charged. A very pleasant surprise. Upon our arrival we definitely found it to be an old motel renovated (painted) but with a pool! We didn’t bring anything to swim in. Oops. The hotel receptionist was very friendly though slightly redundant with an online checkin beforehand and suggested to fit in dinner early around 5 or late at 8 (as their restaurant was heavily booked) with last orders taken at 9 at night. We ended up seeing a movie and had dinner in Katoomba instead. We had plans of having breakfast but with last orders at 10 we missed it. We’d arrived and asked at 10:05. Therefore, if you want to dine here a) book and b) they strictly keep to their scheduled hours. Bearing in mind this was on a Sunday morning. It looks like a lovely restaurant and has a nice outlook and bar. We were woken at 7 in the morning by the noise of glass bottles being emptied into a bin. Other than that it was quiet. We’d kept heating on during the night on a thermostat. It does make noise each time it kicks in and has an annoying flashing light above the bed. The bed is soft. Our door opened to the outside, on the ground floor, though we felt secure. Next time I’d probably be more keen to spend more money on a hotel than a motel (motor inn).

I really loved this hotel and the makeover. It was such a fresh and funky vibe. So nice to see a place that gives you such a warm relaxed vibe in the Blue Mountains. I definitely recommend this place! A must visit.

The owners of Kyah have done an incredible job at transforming this hotel into what it is today. Check-in was very easy and we were met by a lovely lady in the restaurant who is probably one of the nicest and personable staff members in this industry that I have come across. We were provided with information and also spoke with her each morning at breakfast.  Breakfast is incredible. Each morning you wake up to a selection of beautiful pastries, bread, cheeses, fruit, filter coffee, yoghurt and choice of cold meat. Coffees could also be purchased while at breakfast. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Overall the whole hotel was an incredible experience and enjoyed spending plenty of time on the grounds, in the restaurant or other areas where you could enjoy free tea and coffee that you make in the upstairs kitchen.

We stayed at Kyah just one night as a stopover on our way to Sydney. This was our first stay and will be our last. I felt a bit duped as I was expecting a refurbished room in line with what is promoted. I thought Kyah might be similar to the lovely Halcyon House at Cabarita Beach (an old motel that has been refurbished). The only positives was the bed was comfortable and there was an LED makeup mirror in the bathroom, however that's where it ends. The un-renovated bathroom was just awful. It reminded me of my grandmothers daggy 1980's era bathroom. The "ick" factor was amplified by the mould stains in the grout. As other reviewer's have mentioned there is barely anywhere to hang clothing in the room - a few hooks and that's it! I'm also not a fan of the pink and olive paint and curtains. Sure, pink and olive cushions are fine however the paint and curtains just look a bit dowdy and wrong. Perhaps they were aiming for hip and modern however haven't quite hit the mark. Advice to Kyah: As a traveller, (I'm admittedly discerning) comfortable beds and fresh bathrooms, as well as storage for longer stays, are important, and I think important for other travellers as well.
