Liked the location, walking distance to downtown. However, the lodge is old and in bad need of updating. holes in walls, dirt caked non-working bathroom fan, worn spots/stains on toilet seat, mildew and bad stain on sink and caulking, mildew/dirt around window sill, stinky old carpet. The bedding seemed to be pretty fresh and clean but we didn't want to walk around the room in bare feet.

We always stay here because it's old fashioned Montana, plus a good value. It's not a decadent stay, so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't it. But it's kinda cool and retro and laid back....we bring our doggies and they are happy.

I like motels when on a road trip due to the convenience of being able to go straight to my room and leave immediately. The staff at the front desk were super nice and getting to my room was easy enough. The room looks like it was last updated in the early 70s which was kind of fun but the bed was very uncomfortable and the TV was next to impossible to use.

I LOVE staying here! The rooms are comfortable and quiet. It feels as if you are absorbing history, the back story is beautiful. The courtyard parking is a bit tight but plenty of space in alternate parking.

Place did not feel safe and was not clean. Other guests milling about and being noisy until wee hours of the morning. The staff was friendly but I will not stay there again nor recommend the place to others.

Loud guests would not calm down well after 10PM. Loud group could be heard from the lobby around 12PM and didn't quiet down until after 1:30AM!!!!!!!!!!!! Room floor, toilet and sink was a mess. Another guest that checked out spit toothpaste goo all over sink. Hairs on toilet seat and on tub.
