"I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. First of all, I don’t want to be unfair to the staff. The reception team and the valet staff were genuinely kind, respectful, and always tried to help. They deserve appreciation for their excellent attitude. However, the hotel itself was very disappointing, especially for a 5-star property. The twin room was extremely uncomfortable, and I honestly couldn’t believe this was the standard for a hotel with this rating. The shower was unbelievably small—barely enough space for one person to stand comfortably. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. We stayed for 3 days, kept the AC on the coldest setting the entire time, and the room never got cool. We were extremely uncomfortable because of the heat. We reported the problem several times, and each time we were told it had been fixed, but nothing actually changed. We ended up checking out with the issue still unresolved. The staff were great, but unfortunately the hotel’s facilities and maintenance were far below what I expected from a 5-star hotel."

"We wanted to have a spoon to eat and they stated that they do not want to give us any. In addition, the room had cigarette smell in it. And the bathroom was in bad condition. There is no space to park in front of the hotel at least to bring my luggage down and no one even offered tp help. The staff is not well trained and the overall experience was the worst."

If i am paying a full price for a single room and can not use the room myself and have people waking me up and have no respect refusing to remove suitcases from other guests in my room, i call this Fraud. I stayed in that hotel 2 times before. All was ok. This time it was a Desaster!!!!!Unfortunately Mr Ramy, you do not fit there. Your behavior is one of those who should serve on streets and not on a desk in such a hotel. I love this hotel and it is the perfect place to stay in Beirut. Other people who work there are lovely, friendly and wonderful. Except of that night receptionist Ramy Kibbi who has no manner of whatsoever. "

The rooms were a bit old, but did the job. Our only issue was the choppy wi-fi connection. The lobby was grand, and a very nice spot - seems like a lot of people get their wedding photoshoots done here. Will be back!"

"This was our first time in Beirut and we weren’t sure what to expect. The Ramada downtown was everything we could ask for - at a fraction of the price of other luxury hotels. The room was spotlessly clean with a great comfortable bed and ample space. Overall very well maintained. The location of the hotel is also excellent - in a safe area surrounded by great food and seaside walking paths. The hotel also has a generator so power cuts weren’t an issue at all. Above all, what really made the hotel standout was the staff and the three individuals at the front desk. World class professional service with the warmth and class of the Lebanese people. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to share helpful hints and tips given we were first time travellers to Lebanon. In particular, as other reviewers have stated, Amira was exceptional - so kind and welcoming and amazing at her job. The staff really make this hotel special. We hope to return and will definitely stay at the Ramada downtown when we do. Thank you to Amira and the Ramada Downtown team for taking such wonderful care of us!"
