I will admit, I am a Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton kinda gal. I have stayed in some of the nicest hotels around the world for work and have been spoiled with the great food & great service.

This was our first time at The Waterfront Beach Resort, and will be our new go to when in the area. We were treated so kindly by everyone we came into contact with. Upon check in, we were upgraded to a suite for my husbands bday. What a treat! Comfy beds, inviting area. We were here in Dec a few weeks before Christmas and it was so pretty! Fun events for the kids (didn’t travel with ours this time) but they had Santa and the Grinch to take pics with. Good food at Cabo Wabo for both dinner one night and the weekend breakfast buffet one morning. Parking was a little pricey ($50 per night), that ended up adding a bit to our stay, but seems pretty normal in California. Steps from the beach and beautiful ocean view from the room. 5/5 stars for us!

Disappointing experience.
1. Hotel's parking is a block away across the street. Parking spots are tiny, larger cars will have hard time parking.
2. Air conditioning units are those portable things on wheels. Right in the room. Very loud, turns on/off all night.
3. Windows open sliding up - don't stay open, too old/falling apart. Also have no screen.
4. Room is the tiniest I ever seen in hotels.
5. Bathroom sink - stand alone sink with no space to put toiletries on.
Pros:
Clean.
Great location right near the beach.
Rooftop bar, restaurant onsite and great Mexican restaurant across the street.
Friendly service, front desk person was very helpful.

Bij aankomst kon het hotel de boeking niet vinden... hele strijd met trip om dit uit te zoeken en is nu inmiddels 10 dagen geleden, nog steeds niet opgelost. Heb in het hotel nogmaals moeten betalen. Vanuit trip krijg ik iedere dag een mail met we zijn het aan het uitzoeken maar nog steeds dubbel betaald. Hotel is goed en schoon, goede service en aardig personeel.

I booked a room at Laguna Cove after my Sonder reservation was canceled. This place was cozy, with a darling welcome area complete with couches and coffee and a nice fruit, yogurt and coffee cake breakfast. The room was clean and the bed was awesomely comfortable and perfect on a chilly few days in winter. The staff was friendly and attentive! I love this place and will plan to come back! This was the perfect place for me.

Enjoyed my stay at Sonesta ES suites. Breakfast was OK (probably better than average) with a few coffee options, juices, hot food, pancakes, bagels and breads. There are a few eateries nearby within 5-15 min walk. Little Saigon and Korean Town are also a short drive away.
Room is a bit dated but is big and cosy enough. One disadvantage is that there is no daily housekeeping or daily change of towels unless you request for it. Another problem I encountered was the weak wifi signal and coverage.

Hotel was roomy-we were on a quick overnight trip for a nearby race, and it served its purpose. We had a bit of a scare when a neighboring guest from the floor below was pounding on our door at 515 in the AM, demanding to see who we were and claiming we were pounding on the floor. We called the front desk, and Jose (working night shift) was our knight in shining armor. He not only asked the guest to go back to his room, but waiting until he left, and came back to escort us out safely to our car before the race.
