Gaststätte Schwenksaal

這家酒店很像家庭旅館，總共衹有8個房間，分佈在二、三層，一層是餐廳、廚房和辦公室。房間大小合適，比較簡潔。服務很簡單，入住、離店均無需辦理手續，直接給房間和大門鑰匙。早餐比較單一，9歐一位有些貴，完全可以步行幾分鐘去旁邊的超市買，但是店主居然主動提供熱牛奶，在歐洲還鮮有遇到。因酒店位置離孩子所住公寓比較近，所以選擇了它，周邊有Rewe、Edeka、Aldi、DM等，買東西很方便，個人感覺性價比還可以，以後去還會入住。

The hotel lies rather far from the town center. It's not a very good hotel, although I must point out that the room I was allocated was rather calm. I just heard some noise when a guest occupying a neighbouring room got to the staircase landing and the corridor. It usually lasted until he had entered his bedroom. Mine was on the top floor, as I had requested by the way, but, due to the fact that there is no lift, taking up a heavy luggage as that I was carrying required a great effort. The hotel personnel was kind enough as to take my big suitcase up to the landing. Nevertheless, on my departure I had to take it down myself since nobody was then ready to help me accordingly. At the beginning of August 2023 the weather in the pertinent area was rather cold, as was I therefore when I was in the bedroom. The radiator didn't work since the central heating system was at standstill. I asked for an electric fire in order to avoid catching a cold, but they turned a deaf ear to my entreaty in this respect. So, I froze during my whole stay at the hotel. Neither was I let to use a kettle, which I also requested. Every time that I wanted to have a tee I had to go down to the hotel bar and ask for a cup of hot water. The staff members are in general rather unkind and sullen. The only kind and helpful one was a lady who worked there in one evening (I think to remember that it was on August 5th), to whom I asked for the cup of hot water. She not only prepared it as quickly as she could but she kindly took it up to my room. She was really lovely. Unfortunately I just saw her on that occasion. According to some of the hotel advertisements, a parking was available for the hotel guests. It turned out to be a wrong information. I finally had to park my car in the street and not always I found a place near the hotel. On the day after that of my arrival I had breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast has to be ordered some 20 hours in advance and it costs 15 euros extra per day also to be paid in advance. As a matter of fact, it was a very poor meal. It consisted basically in bread, cheese and ham. Neither orange juice nor pastry, fruits, jam or honey was offered as part of that meal. Of course, I didn't have breakfast again in that hotel and rather preferred to go by car to another hotel in the center and have a normal breakfast there. By and large, therefore, I had a very unfortunate stay in that hotel. I shouldn't recommend anyone to book the Gaststätte Schwenksaal when intending to go to Bayereuth.
