Ulasan Plataran Menjangan Resort and Spa

The resort is secluded and quiet, located on rustic yet beautiful grounds. Lots of monkeys and deer which is super fun - we never tired of seeing animals on the grounds :). We did have a major issue with the room that I hope the management will fix in their advertising. We upgraded to the Ocean Front Mangrove Villa well in advance but our room was not on a beach, nor did it have an open view as clearly shown in the website photo. It was the same stunning interior as advertised, just a different location n the resort. We wanted to specifically be on the beach with a great view (the website says "panoramic ocean view") and also, to have a big, bright terrace to read on for most of the afternoon. When asked what happened, we were told the Ocean Front Villas have 2 different categories (say what?) but the website clearly shows a room on the beach with an open view (see main photo on this website). They were able to move us for the last 2 nights but not fun to move when we were only there for 3 days at the end of a 2+ week trip. I wrote to the main headquarters hoping for an explanation but only received a very nice email from the Manager on site. I am writing this part of the review not to dissuade people from going to this lovely resort but to hopefully inspire the higher ups to change the website photos or designate 2 separate categories of these rooms so this switcheroo does not happen to others. All this being said, the room's interior was as spectacular as they come - beautiful and gigantic, with stunning finishes throughout, a large terrace on the beach, deer walking on the beach (!) and you could live in the enormous bathroom. The upgrade was worth every single penny. The main dining options are waterfront and the resort shares a smaller restaurant right over the water with a sister resort and we preferred this setting (they take you in a 5 minute shuttle or a 15 minute walk on the grounds so super easy). I would say the food is average and the kitchen service pretty slow, even when not a ton of people dining (although the restaurant servers were great) but we did not go for the food, although the included breakfast was good and plentiful. We went for the setting and the overall staff is incredibly pleasant and helpful. On a final note, the house reef is quite impressive for snorkeling - we were able to see a tremendous amount of fish in a peaceful setting just a short swim away.
