Alam Batu Beach Bungalow Resort

Dream Weaver Travel recommended Alam Batu. We were there for a week, not nearly long enough. We had our own bugalow with a queen bed and outdoor shower. Very clean and comfortable. The diving was spectacular, Susan runs a first rate operation. I was anxious about having to walk/swim out to the boat however the young men who work there made it easy. We were fortunate to have Dolphy as our dive guide. He knew where to find all the cool things, sea horses, white anemone, turtles, rays, octopus, eels and more. You must dive the USS Liberty Site beautiful coral and loads of fish. All the dive sites were a very short distance away. Food was great and wait staff was very accommodating. The spa, was such a delight after diving. The ladies there treat you like a VIP. I highly recommend this resort.

We had a lovely time at Alam Batu! The dive center was excellent - really great with our kids who are new divers. Lots of great dive spots, and the resort itself is also amazing, particularly the views and the spa! Lots of options for great day trips too.

I spent a little over a week at Alam Batu as part of a dive group with a non-diving companion. We both enjoyed our stay thoroughly missed it when we were gone. Alam Batu is on the northeast coast of Bali. There are many excellent dive sites in the area and the dive operation is top-notch. Danny, the manager, keeps a close eye on the dive center and keeps everything running smoothly. They have a team of excellent guides. The sites include muck diving, coral gardens, a wreck, and sandy expanses, so there is something for everyone. I experienced two of the my best dives ever there: beautiful dives with so much to see. Meanwhile my girlfriend was taking full advantage of the spa which is quite lovely. She went every day and I joined her for one memorable aromatherapy session. We also took several half-day tours to go see waterfalls and temples in the area. The hotel driver and tour guide, Gede, is charming, attentive, and skillful. The grounds are lovely with a beautiful pool and many comfortable places to lounge admire the sea and the pool. The pathways are lushly planted discretely lit at night. The staff keep the grounds immaculate. We had a villa with a king bed and a lovely outdoor bathroom. It was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Hard to find anything to complain about. Maybe the overhead lights were a little dim. Yeah, that's about the extent of my criticisms. The food in the restaurant was good and sometimes very good. I can't say it was excellent. The restaurant is quite lovely, sheltered but outdoors, with views of the sea. The wait staff were all very thoughtful and attentive. It was a great place to meet up with my fellow divers and swap stories. There's also a very nice outdoor terrace where dinner was served if weather permitted. The location is remote from Ubud or Denpasar, which accounts for the laid-back feel of the place. But it does mean that visiting those places requires a considerable drive.

Came here with a group for diving. My spouse - a non-diver also joined. This place was top notch. Great diving with an efficient and expert crew. Muck diving with them was a dream. Fantastic staff and spacious bungalows. On top of all of this, the spa was fantastic. I recommend the aromatherapy massage after a day of diving. The spa was my spouses favorite thing! The staff was terrific to work with - so flexible and easy to work with. I miss it already!

Ja, das Reisen nach Bali so einfach wie früher und das Alam Batu ist wieder offen, hier meine Erfahrung aus Juli 2022: Ich habe Anfang April 2022 spontan meine Reise nach Bali ins Alam Batu geplant als Indonesien ohne Quarantäne einreisen ließ. Ich wollte wieder in warmem Wasser tauchen und Unterwasserfotos (Makro) machen. Wie immer gebucht bei Singapore Airlines Frankfurt via Singapore nach Denpasar und das Zimmer direkt gebucht im Resort. Im Alam Batu war mit Kontaktperson Denny alles schnell geregelt (Deutsch, Schwitzerdütsch, Englisch, Indonesisch ok). Coronatests oder Quarantäne sind bei Einreise über Denpasar (und Manado) seit April 2022 nicht mehr nötig, die Registrierung in der Penduli Lindungi App war nicht mehr nötig. Einfach bei Einreise letzten Impfnachweis vorzeigen, dann (wie vorher) Visum on Arrival (35 Euro bar oder Karte) und Immigration. Der Transfer mit dem Englisch und ein wenig Deutsch sprechenden Resort-Fahrer war angenehm (Wasser im Wagen, sicher gefahren, Toilettenstop im Minimart). Meine traumhafte Villa mit Sicht auf Meer, Infinitypool und Garten ließ nichts zu wünschen übrig: Doppelbett mit Moskitonetz, Dusche im Bad unter freiem Himmel, bequemes breites Daybed auf Terrasse, Wasserkocher, Minikühlschrank, Aircon. Frühstück ist von 7-11:00, passt vor oder nach dem ersten Tauchgang: Frischgebackenes Brot, Früchte, Eivariationen, Pfannkuchen, Nasi goreng. Lunch und Snack a la carte jederzeit möglich. Wasser aus dem Spender im Restaurant ist gratis. Mit leckeren großen Gläsern von Fruchtsaftmischungen von der Karte fällt das Trinken der nötigen Mengen leicht, gut auch am Pool oder Gazebo (2 breite gepolsterte Sonnenliegen unter gedeckter Holzkonstruktion, die im Garten und auf Felsen am Meer* verteilt sind; *diese sind für Yogaübungen bei Sonnenaufgang prädestiniert). Am Abend ist fast jeden Tag umfangreiches Buffet, ansonsten ist die Auswahl von der Karte mit indonesischen und westlichen Gerichten gut & ausreichend. Manchmal gab es Sate BBQ oder Fleisch & Fisch über Holzfeuer mit Musik von Guide Band. Vor dem Abendessen kann man mit den anderen Gästen und Doris, Danny, und Susan gemütlich bei einem Aperitif in der Lounge unter freiem Himmel und großen roten Lampinons an hohen Bambusstäben sitzen und sich austauschen. Spätestens zum Essen kommen auch die Diveguides dazu; nach Absprache kommt Euer Diveguide auch schon vorher zum Bilder gucken / Gesehenes bestimmen fürs Logbuch. Die Gäste waren international: eine neuseeländische Familie, eine größere amerikanische Tauchgruppe, Schweizer, Deutsche. Einzelreisende (wie ich) sind gut aufgehoben. Tauchzeiten sind flexibel, mehrere Gruppen starten in bis zu 3 Booten ab 7:30, 10:30, und 13:00 Uhr zu verschiedenen Plätzen nach Absprache mit den Gästen und Guides. Es gibt Tauchplätze mit Korallenriffen (3m bis ＞30m) inklusive Riffhaien, Wracks (Tulamben und ein kleineres Kubo auf 18m), Muck auf Sand und mit Korallenblöcken (Makro und Supermakro).
