Flowerbud Bungalow Balangan II

Geographically isolated, lots of dogs, scooter, rubbish and construction. Crazy road to get there and unless you can actually ride a scooter expect to pay a minimum of $50 AUD per day to go anywhere within a short radius. This adds up really quickly and a budget Bali holiday blows out to a $150.00 a day in the blink of an eye. We paid for two weeks up front. Do not do this. Management not helpful and not interested once money has been paid. Previous reviews said business was family run and the staff were helpful. Maybe Flowerbud has changed management as emphasis is on making money not repeat customers… TIP!There is another Flower Bud, Flower Bud 1 which, is better maintained with slightly larger menu with more options. Main course starts around $10.00 plus 15% surcharge on top for all fare. Food in restaurant not Balinese, but western. Difficult to locate any good food in this area. Really disappointing. Few, if any vegetables and token prawns. Bungalow is charming and Balinese, but stuffy, old and in need of maintenance (that is what you get if you book for two weeks and pay up front 😶😢). Thankfully pool is good and gardens are lovely. Note to self….never book for such a long time in the one place🤯😵‍💫

We stayed two nights in a family bungalow, two adults and two kids. The accommodation was a pleasant surprise for Bali at the price point, the bungalows were built in a rustic wooden style but still had air conditioning to keep the room comfortable. The in-house restaurant was also a positive surprise, while on the quiet side with patronage the food was delicious and inexpensive compared to typical mid-range resorts. A couple of words of caution - the stairs within the bungalow for the upstairs bedroom were quite steep and would not be suitable for younger children. Finally, Balangan beach (3 min walk away) is known as a surfer's paradise (and there were plenty of surfers there), but it isn't suitable for family swimming given shallow reef.

5 nights at Flower bud bungalows and it was perfect! We (2 adults snd two children aged 5&7) did 2 nights in the original resort (FB1- closer to ocean, breakfast only, nice pool) and then 3 nights around the corner at the newer resort (FB2 - still close to beach just little bit of a further walk 300m, it’s restaurant open breakfast, lunch and dinner and all day for drinks and snacks, also has larger pool) both were gorgeous rustic wood and straw bungalows. I recommend for surfers or families looking to be a little more remote, not very many aussies out that way while there but our kids had a great time playing with kids of other nationalities. Balangan beach has lots of beach Warungs and a gorgeous beach club and we ate at the warungs and beach clubs several times while watching the sun sets. We also had a lovely meal at La Joya restaurant (restaurant within La Joya resort which is a short stroll between the two flower bud resorts, food was great, service good, great vibe, aesthetically pleasing and awesome sunset views) Down the beach, Lots of rock pools to explore at low tide (late afternoon). The owner of Flowerbud bungalows is lovely and more than helpful when booking the accomodation, answering all my questions.. we even got to meet him and our kids played with his kids in the pool. Worth a mention- Breakfast that is included is quite simple, tea coffee juice fresh fruit and bread, however for a small price you can buy off the menu. The banana pancakes are amazing. We will 100% be back. We loved this little slice of paradise.

Pros: 1 Location Very close to Balangan Beach. 2 Live music Specify the days of the week. 3 Restaurant You can eat well at an average price. 4 Wooden houses Yes, comfort suffers, but in such houses you feel nature better. 5 Garden Thank you gardener and landscape designer 6 Sunsets When sunset, the atmosphere is indescribable. The colors are completely different. Сons: Location Shops and restaurants quite far 2 House layout The stairs to the second floor made it difficult to go to the bathroom.

I always thought this would be a nice spot to stay (the bungalows are very cute) but it was very overpriced, very noisy and the restaurant was empty most of the time even though the accommodation was full. Dirty mosquito nets and sheets. I’m not fussy and certainly no princess so I say to you save your money for better spots or to flower bud - lift your game!

Mágico! Foi a primera vez que nos hospedamos em um Bungalow como esses. A funcionária que fez nosso check-in foi muito simpática e nos disse que há anos antes de Bali ser tão explorada por hotéis de luxo as hospedagens eram originais dessa forma. Assim que chegamos ficamos encantados com o lugar e nos detalhes. Quem gosta de conhecer algo diferente e bom tem que ficar alguns dias no Flower Bud Bungalows Balangan. Funcionários de uma simpatia maravilhosa e a energia do lugar era sensacional. Ao sairmos do nosso Bungalow e caminharmos ate a Piscina parecia que estávamos no paraíso. Ficamos na Piscina por algumas horas e no dia em que chegamos pedimos algo para comer e beber. Tudo muito rápido para os padrões de Bali caso alguém saiba o que estou falando. Nao podemos falar sobre o cafe da manha porque descobrimos um restaurante que fica na praia que é MARAVILHOSO de barato e gostoso. No mais queremos muito voltar e nos hospedar nesse lugar paradisíaco e deslumbrante.
