Gynandha Ubud Cottage

Stayed here for 5nts as two couples and perfect in every way. Large room with massive bed, great location overlooking rice fields yet only 5min walk to the hustle and bustle. Really quiet and peaceful with stunning gardens and pool. Great breakfast and staff can’t do enough for you arranging any travel or trips you would like. I cannot recommend this place enough.

It’s our last night tonight and we will be really sorry to say goodbye. Yes- it is up a slight hill and yes there is a weird walk to it (as others have said) but my hubby is 60 and I’m getting close and we had no problems at all- the staff come and collect your stuff on mopeds. Ubud itself is nuts- crowded, noisy and chaotic - each time you go anywhere you have to watch out for cars and bikes but this hotel was a little piece of heaven - tranquil and quiet and a welcome relief after a busy day. We had a wonderful room on the 2nd floor and enjoyed a floating breakfast in the pool one morning. Breakfast was delicious and nothing seems like too much trouble for the staff- who were wonderful. It’s very very reasonable price wise- especially for a Hotel- we had a bit of washing done for example- £3. Beers are the same price as on the high street for example. The pool is fantastic after such hot days and unlike a lot of hotels you can go for a swim after dark. A loud party hotel this is not - if you want that- don’t book this one. But if you do want to be treated as if you’re the only person staying as well as the most important - then come here. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so special.

Not a bad place for 160 to 200 for a normal room. The bed tho is hard as a rock would not recommend to anyone with back issues. Customer service was ok but the walk from the drop off to the actual hotel was uphill and can get quite tricky at night. Definitely not for older people.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had a room on the ground floor and it was convenient and large. The staff were all wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast was plentiful. There is a short walk from the main street and some of it is uphill, so one should be in moderate physical health. It is not strenuous unless you have limited mobility. The pool is lovely and the overall complex felt secluded and charming. I highly recommend.

The hotel is new, so everything is well maintained, clean and frankly better than what I expected for the price i paid (even has a bath tub!). But it is a small setup with 6 rooms, a small restaurant, and a villa (under construction when I visited). It is staffed by young boys who were ready to help whenever, but their English was not very strong, so verbal communication was difficult at times. WhatsApp was thankfully there to help bridge the gap. The property overlooks rice fields and the campuhan ridge walk is a 5-10 minute walk again. It is a 5 minute walk away from the Ubud market, so we had access to good restaurants and did not have to rely on the hotel for food. One thing you might want to note is that the property is located in a lane wide enough for pedestrians and scooters only, but the hotel sends down scooters to pick you up from the main road. But cars are not allowed to be parked there, so you may have to coordinate so that the hotel's bike riders are waiting before you reach the pick up point by cab. This property works really well if you plan to only park your things and sleep in the room, while spending your days exploring Ubud or doing day trips.

An island of paradise in Ubud. The rooms are huge and the bathrooms amazing. The rooms look out onto two pools and a delightful garden. Rice fields adjoin the property. The staff are really helpful and welcoming. It is about a ten minute walk to the shops and restaurants of Ubud. I am so pleased we found this place and would come back any time.

This hotel was beautiful. As soon as we arrived the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The rooms were lovely and the bed was the biggest I’ve ever stayed in! The pools / garden are very well designed. The breakfast was really good too. The hotel is up a bit of a hill but the staff come and pick your cases up on a scooter to take them up for you.

A beautiful hotel in a Perfect location, this was so close to everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were so kind and friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was also very yummy! The bed was super comfortable and the room was very big! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re wanting a chill out space from all the madness when your exit the hotel. The only thing I would change which is so minor is just to add cushions on the sun loungers which isn’t a massively big deal everything else was perfect. Suksma 🙏🙏

It’s an oasis in the centre of Ubud, just a few steps from restaurants and shops in the main road, but far enough to create a quiet and relaxing environment. The staff were very welcoming and professional and they helped us with all our requests. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked well in the room and so did the air-con. There is a nice swimming pool on two levels with deck chairs to chill in the free time. If I had to find a flaw, it would be the tiny path to get to the hotel, but the staff do their best to make things easy for you and contact you before your arrival to help you with your luggage. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay there and we definitely would go back.
