Zafiro Menorca

We spent October Half Term at The Zafiro Menorca and we could not fault it. The hotel is perfect for families, particularly with young children. The grounds and rooms are spotless, and the food and drink is some of the best we have had in an all inclusive. There's something going most of the day for the children and the animation teach were fab. We spent most of our time by the pirate pool which was fabulous for little ones. The evenings were made easy as the children could enjoy time on the bouncy castle and large play area whilst we enjoyed a drink and watched the entertainment. The staff were all super friendly. The hotel is 5 minutes from the sea and a 10 min walk from the beautiful marina and beach. Unfortunately, we didn't get to go on the beach as the sea was so choppy but it was the end of Oxtober. We took the bus from outside the hotel to ciutadella which is a beautiful town. I must add the restaurants caters very well for allergies and each dish is labelled. I'm a coeliac and there was always plenty of choice. We would definitely return as it is such a superb family hotel.

Very disappointing. The food was very average at best, wine poor and atmosphere noisy. The swim up pool I had paid extra for was not "swim up" and a total rip off. You couldn't see the children in the pool from the terrace and it's certainly not private. Other guests came over, escaping the nosie of the very busy main pool. The entertainment was for little kids, nothing for adults and involved a lot of screaming. The service at the pool bar was mixed, some days we were ignored. Could not recommend at all. Far too expensive and unpleasant. Have stayed at far better 3 star hotels.

Have just come back from here for a family holiday, booked through Tui, however these are my thoughts on Zafiro only. Check in was pretty straight forward and quick. Our room was nice and clean. We did have a slight issue with ants in there on the first day, however this can happen anywhere in my view, and when we reported this to reception it was sorted straight away. The room had everything we needed. The resort was really nice. It was clean, well located and nicely set out. It’s a short walk (20mins max) down to the harbour and beach, which is full of shops and quiet bars. The resort staff were good and clearly work very very hard, so full credit to them. If I’m being picky, some areas of the resort are a bit tired, for example there were some loose tiles on the paths around the place, and some of the plastic drain covers around the pool had broken, but generally everything was in good condition. Also, for the first half of our holiday the food in the buffet restaurant seemed to be a bit repetitive, although it was still nice and we didn’t struggle to find anything to eat; They seemed to switch it up for the second half of our stay, and there seemed to be a bit more variety day-to-day. We didn’t really make use of the evening entertainment, but from what we did see, there didn’t seem to be much for children. There were tribute acts for the adults, whilst the kids were getting their faces painted at the side, but once they were done with that there didn’t seem to be anything else for them. All in all, we all had a nice time here and would happily return and recommend.

Overall we had a great week away which was probably one of the most relaxing holidays we’ve had in a while which is easier said than done with two small children. Location: Really good location, roughly 1hr from the airport. 3 supermarkets are 5 mins away as you turn right out of the hotel and the marina is 10mins turning left outside of the hotel. We didn’t find the pavements as bad as what people had described for the walk to the marina. Check in: We may have just caught it at a bad time but after an early morning flight and delayed coach transfer the last thing you want is to have to queue for 30/45 mins to get given your room. Only two staff checking people in and it was a fairly long process. Add to that people who had checked in earlier then just coming back in for their room cards and not having to queue. Reception also isn’t air conditioned which didn’t help. Food: We were all inclusive and we did find the food was one thing that let the hotel down. It could just be our personal preference as a few in our group are fussy with food. We always found something to eat but a couple of nights it was pizza and chips. There just wasn’t that much of a selection and food seemed to repeat itself quite a lot during the week which you don’t usually get. Also only one night where there was a clear theme for dinner. Other nights it was such a combination of foods. The kids buffet again we felt was a little limited. Fish was the main choice 3 nights in a row. One night the kids buffet was also not open for no obvious reason which caused a long queue for the regular buffet. The pool bar offers food cooked to order and was of a really high standard but just hard to sit out in the heat and the constant flies. You can only eat by the pool bar you can’t take food back to a room etc. Desserts are also really poor, it’s the same cakes repeated constantly and same 3/4 flavours of ice cream. We also found 7pm for dinner with children was too late. Room: we were in block 2, one swim up room and one pool view. The room was perfect for our needs and found the space was okay for a family of four. We also didn’t get the ant issue that others have mentioned about. We spotted one in the shower once but nowhere else in the room. Like others on arrival we were a bit apprehensive about the ‘swim up room’ as when we stayed in a previous zafiro it was really a swim up room. However it honestly worked so well for us and would definitely recommend to those with young children. It meant that you didn’t have to take everything over to sunbeds etc, baby could still nap whilst we enjoyed being in the pool. Cleaning could have been improved in the rooms. It was never obvious they had been and my parents room was only cleaned three times out of the week. I doubt you could cook much being self catering though it’s a very small kitchen space. We only used the pool by our room so can’t comment on the others but looking at the other swim up pools we definitely preferred our lay

Great week, the facilities for kids really made the trip… kids entertainment and care in the mini club, as well as splash pool and main pool facilities. Good choice of food for all. Water park only 10mins walk away and harbour less than 15mins with a push chair. A short walk to lighthouse for sunset gave stunning views and loads of people seem to show up for the sunset.

We stayed here for a wk, self catering in block 4, paid extra for a swim up room. Not sure I would class this block as swim up, but still good, the pool is just outside the gate. Anyone can & does go in, but it’s lovely for a little dip & the kids loved it. The private terrace with chairs & sun loungers was a massive bonus, as a couple of days there weren’t any around the main pool. We had lunch a few times at the pool bar & the food was very nice, the salads were very big & tasty, pizza & burgers also very good. The animation team worked really hard & the kids loved them. Particularly Jose manuel, he had so much energy & was great fun. All the staff were very polite & helpful & the rooms were a great size as well, thankfully with good air conditioning !! The location is also fantastic with just a 10 min walk to the marina with plenty of bar’s & restaurants, another 3 min walk & there’s a beautiful sandy cove with a beach bar

Beautiful, family friendly hotel. 14 of us visited this hotel September 2023. This consisted of 10 adults and 4 children under 3. The hotel itself is immaculately clean with beautiful grounds. The staff were amazing and friendly and always had a smile on their face. The rooms were modern, and beds comfy. Although we were all inclusive we did have a kitchen which was ideal to wash our sons bottles etc. We very rarely ate in the main restaurant (aside from breakfast). We mainly ate at the pool bar for lunch and the food was lovely! We bought some Welsh cheese from one of the local supermarkets and would add it to our food 🤣. We then went out for evening meals as this is something we always enjoy doing. The marina is a short walk away, would take us 10 minutes. It’s surrounded by restaurants. We also done a boat trip which we booked at the marina and the kids loved! Entertainment in the hotel was your usual acts each evening. The kids entertainers were amazing, our children loved them. So friendly and enthusiastic. It’s a massive bonus that the climbing frame and bouncy castle is next to the entertainment/bar. Overall, an amazing family holiday. We usually go to the canaries where everything is a bit busier, however we had a fab time and would definitely return.

Quiet area. Lovely marina for walks and food. It is expensive in this area to eat out and for drinks. The hotel is well catered for children. The hotel is too expensive if not AI. We went HB and the food was basic. Choice was quite limited. We ate out a few nights to break up the routine. Nice area but really needs infrastructure help. We did a few day trips on public transport with no issues.

Thought hotel was excellent was a little quieter due to time of year which made it pretty easy to get loungers and service at bar etc food was good but like any buffet style it can be a little repetitive but harbour is a 10 min walk away with loads of options to change things up. Pool bar food by far the best. Rooms where big and spotless and entertainment staff were excellent with the kids. Would defo go back
