This is the 1st time we have visited to the hotel and our visit was very good. I have got a good rate compared to other properties in the area. The staff were very friendly and supportive. The place is very closed to the Anuradhapura city hence we could easily visited all the historical places. The breakfast was very good, delicious and included many veracities. We used the swimming pool and enjoyed a lot.

A boutique hotel with clean spacious rooms. Usually mostt hotels does not have family room and Alakamandawa had a room to ascomata 4 adults which was value for money. Staff was helpful and friendly. there was a good variety of food on buffet.

We booked 6 double rooms on B&B and it was a great choice. The rooms though a bit worn out had all the amenities and was clean. The bathrooms especially was clean and good. The ambience of the hotel pool side and court yard was really relaxing and very good for the nice group pics we took. The service was great, The breakfast was very nice with both SL and western options. All in all quite a good find.

Four of us stayed here in January 2024. THe rooms were comfortable and well equipped. The large quite modern building included a spacious swimming pool and a large garden randomly assembled. So far so 4*. My rating for the catering is far lower. The breakfast offering was just not very good at all, lacking in variety and with no helping staff in attendance. The restaurant area you had to go through to reach the rooms, it felt very public as though included as an afterthought. Disappointing, given how excellent Srilankan hotel breakfasts often are. A very small bar area is there with a couple of sofas on which to relax. THe hotel is located some way away from the Sacred City, so a vehicle is required, but that's not a major problem.

It was a great pleasure to spend our wonderful family vacation in the best hotel in Anuradhapura. We selected a hotel after a thorough search and we would never regret the choice we made. The staff was very friendly and even before we reach the hotel, they were able to prepare a family room to match our requirements. The manager was very friendly and the whole staff made sure that all the clients were satisfied. They gave us a very warm welcome and the room was excellent. The rooms with the pool view are the best. Our room was very spacious regardless the fact that 5 of us were in the same room. It was cozy and clean. The breakfast and the dinner were fascinating. They had arranged a buffet for both the breakfast and the dinner. The dinner included a range of Sri Lankan, Thai and western cuisine. The breakfast included many Sri Lankan foods such as string hoppers, milk rice and many more. I would definitely select Hotel Alakamanda to spend my vacation whenever I visit Anuradhapura.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel, really lovely & friendly staff. The pool & hotelroom is very nice. English breakfast with fruits, toasted bread & eggs (w bacon/saugages) & coffee/tea. Dinner was served in a buffet with different options. Can’t say much about the location but the driver took us to several nice temples from here. Manjula (restaurant manager) is doing his best to check if you’re satisfied!

We have ordered Alms Giving buffet from Alamkandawa Hotel for our katina pinkama where as they provided soups, main course, apetizers, and desserts as per our choice. (We also added fruits and some other items) I reaaly appreciate their keeness to provide the very best service. They came to check the location the day before and had a nice discussion with us to make sure everything happnes perfectly fine. I really am greatful for that committment, coz by handing over the almsgiving to them, bcoz of the previous arrangements and discussions we had, I felt really peaceful in mind, bcoz the day before the alms giving, we have decided everything including how the flow of event would happen, how the tables would be arranged, how the desserts would be arranged etc. We wanted to provide delicious alms giving, with luxurious food and design, the very best way, I think Alakamndawa team provided one of the very best services and very best buffet. Especial thanks to CEO of hotel and Mr, Manjula and Chef Sampath and the team who came.Thank you very much for the committment and service. Wonderful job!

Lovely views from room and nice infinity pool. Rooms were okay but bathroom was mostly and no way to ventilate. Food was okay but was buffet for breakfast and dinner which was very similar to every place on sti lanka. Staff were very friendly. Good location.

This hotel is tucked away from the huddle and bussle of Anuradhapura city. The grounds are well maintained and clean equipped with clean swimming pool. Rm 28A and 29A was upstairs so you ask for ground floor room is mobility is an issue. The rooms are spacious and clean with ammenities similar to other hotels. However bathroom in 28A smelt like swerage which my kids didn’t complain about because we were just staying overnight. Yep there were cockroaches and a lizard in room so let the fantastic staff know if that’s an issue. Breakfast was mediocre. Continental breakfast was old and chewy so we just had traditional food which was really tasty and yes fresh. Coffee sachets kept running out so just ask. The juice was made with tap water as alluded by staff so as a tourist refrain from drinking juices. Staff worked hard which was obvious and they all had great personalities.
