Meininger Hotel Amsterdam City West

I have never stayed in any hotel where the walls were this thin. Actually the sound comes from the windows from both adjacent rooms. The guests are mostly school students and younger people: so they are loud to say the least. You won’t need loud neighbors to hear every conversation around you. If you are at a moment in your life where sleep for your family is important, I strongly suggest looking for other options. There are plenty bugdet options in Amsterdam and you deserve it. Cleanliness is also a minus . In our first night we got here late, and we got a very dirty blanket. Since room service is not available at night, the young clerk in charge didn’t even know where to find a new clean one. He changed us the room, but in the new one they didn't clean the bathroom waste basket from the previous guests. The breakfast options are very basic, but ok. Access is not the best. With google maps you’ll be guided to a p+r parking, which will be free of charge if you park after 19:00 on working days or free on weekends. From there you will have to walk around the block with your luggage *upstairs* - no ramp provided. Consider this if they are heavy or you have mobility issues. The hotel also offers a parking lot for a higher price, where an elevator is available.

The staff were so helpful and kind and they helped us out a lot and the beds were very comfy and the food was delicious and the rooms were so nice and spacious and the service was very nice and the games in the hotel lobby are very good for kids and adults looking for entertainment. Over all a great experience!

Staff excellent. Rooms very good, clean, comfy. Great transport close. The bad. This place attracts the noisy, obnoxious crowd. Its hard to get to sleep because of people making noise all around. Kids, teens, party goers this is the place for you. Anyone wanting to get some sleep dont bother. It completely spoils the good parts of the place. Also 1 broken microwave for ALL of the people in a self service kitchen, hopeless. I jug for boiling water in the whole place. Useless. So Tired. Never again.

We enjoyed our stay at Meininger Amsterdam West. The location is superb being a two minute walk to the train and bus station. You can get to Amsterdam Centraal via Sprinter in six minutes. You can also easily get to Haarlem and Zaanse Schans via train. Alternatively, if you have the Iamsterdam pass, you can take GVB bus 22 (25 minutes) to Centraal. Also, you can take GVB Metro 50/51 to Leylylaan; transfer to GVB tram 1 to get to Rijksmuseum or GVB tram 17 to get to the Jordaan district and Anne Frank House. Note: All GVB routes are covered with the pass. We stayed in the family room there were two single beds pushed together to form a double. The children stayed in bunk beds. The room and bedding were very clean. Cleaning service must be made by request from the front desk at least 24 hours in advance. Check in is at 3 p.m. You can rent lockers to store luggage if you arrive early and want to get into the city. There is free filtered water in the lobby to fill up bottles.

Good. But food was scuttery staff weren't nice people rooms were very small for the price and hair left in the shower.Tv doesn't work awful smell in the corridor. Room key stopped working after a day.not a lot of space for luggage beds were small as well and i found chewing gum on the side of my bed.

Family of 5 and room was perfect! Two single beds and two lots of bunk beds. No clothes hanging space in room but we aren’t fussed and just ironed as we went if we needed to. Lots of mixed ages but everyone so friendly. Right next to train station with a Starbucks and a spar nearby to. Easy check in and great to sit and have a drink at bar whilst kids used games etc. No noise the first night, second night we could hear music and kids running through corridors, wouldn’t stop us staying again though.
