Abella Hotel

Lovely apartments in Agia Marina, set back from the main road but still walking distance to shops and many restaurants and close by the to Platanias and also Chania conveniently reached by local bus. Great pool area with loungers and pool bar. Abella is opposite one of the best beaches in the area, with shallow clear water

Stayed for 6 nights in July with my wife and found the couple who run this hotel to be so helpful and welcoming , lovely little bar beside the pool for drinks during day and evening. We had a studio apt with a gorgeous view of the sea (sunrise so impressive) , which was cleaned daily, in fact the whole premises is just immaculate , lots of shaded areas if required to lounge around plus loads of sunbeds round pool for the real sun worshippers. Its location is central to everything and would definitely recommend , one last thing we can´t the forget "the real boss" the couples son Manus, the star of the show!

First of all: The staff was VERY kind and helpful. They ordered us a taxi when we asked for and did everything we asked for. We had a chance to stay at the hotel on the last day (due to the late flight back home) and they provided us free towels so we were able to use the pool area. By the way, pool area...it's absolutely rare, but the opening hours of the pool (and the pool bar!) was 9:00AM till 1:00AM. It's simply amazing, not to mention the kindness of the staff at the pool bar. Luckily the pool is far enough (yet close) to the rooms so you won't be bothered if others are using the pool area while you are trying to sleep. You can also eat at the pool bar (kitchen opening hours from 9:00-17:00). We tried gyros and it was huge, tasty and super fresh. They even have beer on tap and ice cold, frozen glasses. Very well done. :) The room was big enough and well designed and it was pretty clean. The seaside view was really a seaside view without compromise - nice view of the sunrise!

We just came back from a family holiday and stayed at the Abella Hotel, I can honestly say it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at (and there has been a few) The room was clean, bright and very spacious, we had a balcony overlooking both the pool area and the sea, the layout, the setting and the grounds were beautiful, The hotel is located right in the middle of a busy street full of supermarkets, bars, shops, restaurants however as it was set back up a drive it was quiet and peaceful. from door to beach front was a 5 minute walk and you have everything you need at your fingertips The pool was clean, warm and very well maintained, the pool bar had a good menu for both food and drinks and was very reasonably priced, a huge bonus was that the pool area is open until 1am meaning that you could go for a late night swim to cool down, this is the first time that I have encountered a hotel with this facility. Finally the staff were absolutely incredible, we had our small children with us and they adored the staff who really made a huge effort with them. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and can honestly say I do not have a single negative word to say. I hope to be returning to Crete one day and if so, I will be booking in to the Abella

Excellent hotel and lovely owners. Room was very clean and was cleaned-up several times a week. Nice sea view from sunny balcony and you could almost see a sunset from there. Pool and pool area was big enough and pool bar with service was excellent.

Ganz toll! Wir hätten es nicht besser treffen können. Wir waren 7 Tage hier und es war ein sehr schöner Urlaub. Das Zimmer war stets super sauber. Die Einrichtung ist schon etwas älter, aber man hat alles, was man braucht. Der Meerblick ist auch wirklich ein direkter Blick auf das Meer und das von mehreren Seiten (Zimmer 7). Wir haben jeden Abend damit ausklingen lassen, auf dem Balkon zu sitzen und die Aussicht zu genießen. Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Poolbereich auch sehr schön und ideal geeignet, um sich bei dem heißen Wetter abzukühlen. Lage auch super, große Auswahl an guten Restaurants und Bus Station nach Chania direkt vor der Tür (ca. 20-30 Min Fahrt). Alles top, vielen Dank dafür!! :-)
