2-Star Hotels in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan

Convenient place just across Tobu Nikko station. For one night we had all we needed in our twin room, which was like a studio: private bathroom, kitchen corner with microwave, kettle, sink and fridge (no kitchen amenities), balcony with view. Heating and heated blanket did their job in the cold night. There’s a Supermarket and a Laundry service close by. The hotel needs for sure some maintenance and insulation can be improved as it was very cold. The only way to get to upper floors is by elevator, as I tried using the stairs but they were blocked by piles of sheets, which is not ideal as there should be emergency exits! Not really a budget accommodation compared to other places I stayed in Japan and for the standard offered.

I stayed here for golf the night before. what a simulation golf store on the second floor The inside of the store was spacious and clean. Reasonable near the station. Enough to sleep on a solo trip. It is the interior of the business hotel room. Breakfast was good in the buffet style of rice, curry, bread, specialty kanpyo soup, salmon slices, sausages and vegetables.

Went for work, staff wasn’t the nicest but were accommodating enough - the night staff was a little rude, but the morning staff the next day was kind enough. I had time to kill in the lobby, where there were free massage chairs, though they were a little beaten up. There were food and drink dispensers as well as a hot water heater and microwave for use. There are also public onsen style baths that I did not take advantage of, but they had many selections. The room I stayed in was nothing special, but was fine for the night I was staying. The location is not great but not terrible, as there is a supermarket nearby open until midnight My biggest piece of advice would be to rent a car if you are staying here; I took a cab then walked to the station the next day after my business in the area was done

Service was excellent! Some staff can speak English. Busy hotel but got enough parking. Location is convenient, there are restaurant nearby. Room is semi-double but we got enough space. Got breakfast however the breakfast time is pretty early from 6am to 8:30am. (Check out time is 10am) We went down at 7:45am, but food was almost gone, but staff no refill anymore, this might need to be improved. Also the room inside and the bathroom are a bit old, carpet is a bit dirty, this might need to be improved too. But overall, its pretty good to stay a few nights.

The place is good as a place to sleep. Has a lift that is good for large luggage. Also has a common bath, nice to soak in. Only downside is the size of the rooms and that the staff don't have a good command of English. Might be abit hard to communicate with them. Also has a cleaning fee that had to paid upfront for the rooms which is not part of the trip booking. Abit of a surprise there.

Hotel opened in June 2025, container remodeled hotel. This form of hotel is also a temporary place that can be used for earthquake rescue. The rooms are small but all facilities are complete, including refrigerators, microwave ovens, bathrooms, etc. in the room. There are supermarkets and 24-hour shops near the hotel. On the National Road 4, it is very suitable for self-driving tours. The hotel's parking lot is also very large. It is about 1.8 kilometers from the JR station, walking, taxi to the hotel. There are beverage vending machines and laundry rooms. Breakfast box lunch, coffee is very good, the service staff are also very good. The hotel is located between Kinugawa and Nasuhara. Cost-effective, beyond expectations.

In a word, it feels like being at grandma's house. Grandpa and grandma are very kind and friendly. They will not disturb you except to tell you that dinner is ready and to come down to eat. Everything in the room is self-service, with clean tatami, necessary heating stove, and public baths for men and women. Most importantly, every meal is carefully prepared, with cold and hot dishes, fish, meat, vegetarian, and small hot pot, which is perfect for a drink after a day of playing outside.

We stayed for one night in a capsule cabin. It is the best for hot spring lovers because you can use a large bath for 24 hours (9 〜 10 am not available for cleaning). However, holidays and so on are crowded, so you may feel less 々 stress. The capsule cabin has a TV and outlet, and it's okay if you just sleep. However, it is recommended to use an earplug in the cabin because it is a little concerned about the sound of other people's in and out and out and the sound of the air cleaner.
