What Is a 26-30 Railcard?

The 26-30 Railcard provides a 1/3 discount on most UK rail fares for those aged 26-30.

26-30 Railcards can only be purchased online, are valid for one year and costs only £30. There is no limit to the number of times you can use the Railcard, and, on average, 26-30 Railcard holders save £238 per year.*

The 26-30 Railcard is ideal for everyone aged 26-30, including young professionals, graduates and those who enjoy weekend getaways.

This Railcard provides discounts on Anytime, Off-Peak, Advance tickets and more, but note that there is a cheapest fare of £12 for all journeys made between 4:30 am and 9:59 am from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

The 26-30 Railcard offers a 1/3 discount on most Off-Peak rail fares for travel across the UK. Below, you will find information on tickets, time restrictions, and the cheapest fares available. Take a look to plan your travel accordingly.

A £12 minimum fare applies on all journeys made between 04:30 and 09:59 Monday to Friday, excluding Advance fares.

  • What is the difference between a 16-25 and 26-30 Railcard?

    Both Railcards offer the same discounts. However, the 16-25 Railcard can be purchased for one or three years, while the 26-30 Railcard is only available for one year and online purchase. Mature students above 30 can only choose the 16-25 Railcard.
  • Can you get a 26-30 Railcard when you are 30?

    Yes, You can buy it up to and including the day before your 31st birthday and keep using it until its expiry date.
  • Can I get a 3-year 26-30 Railcard?

    No, the 26-30 Railcard is only available for 1 year.
Using Your Railcard
  • When can I use my 26-30 Railcard?

    You can use it anytime on weekends, public holidays and during the week. The only restriction is that if you travel between 04:30 and 09:59 Monday to Friday, a cheapest fare of £12.00 will apply.
  • How do you use a 26-30 Railcard?

    You can add your Railcard to a maximum of two devices at any given time. When entering the station, you can either scan the QR code on your phone or present it to railway staff if required.
  • How do you add a 26-30 Railcard to your Oyster card?

    To link your Oyster cards and Railcards, you need to take your Oyster card and valid Railcard to a London Underground station and ask a member of staff to set the discount for you. You can also get the discount set at Oyster Ticket Shops and Visitor Centres.
  • Can you use the 26-30 Railcard on the London Underground?

    Yes, after adding your Railcard to an Oyster card, you can save 1/3 on Single Off-Peak pay as you go fares for London Underground and Docklands Light Railway services in London.

    You can renew your 26-30 Railcard before your 31st birthday, providing it is due to expire within 30 days. However, if you are over the age of 30, you can only choose alternative Railcards, including the 16-25 Railcard.

    You can renew your 26-30 Railcard online within 30 days before it expires and before your 31st birthday. The specific steps are as follows.
