Hotel Dengan Spa di Tianjin, China

Hotel is very new and pretty big for ibis brand , location is good , very closed to subway station (exit D) jst the corner and less than 1 min to get to the hotel, also near by the century clock, and 15-20 mins walk to Italian town.

The hotel is conveniently located. Three minutes from the metro station (4 branches). Very friendly staff at the reception. We even checked in two hours ahead of the official check-in time. After learning that it was my birthday, the hotel staff brought us fruits to the room. The room itself is cozy and clean. One of the disadvantages is that it is very cold in the bathroom, which has windows facing the street. Well, the pool on the minus ground floor is tiny. As for breakfast, it's good and satisfying. Overall, it's good. But not exactly ”five stars”, in my usual sense.

The place is located walking distance to Tianjin eye The hotel is the best UrCove I have stayed till date. The breakfast spread was very good and staff very helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. I had the view of the Tianjin eye from my room 3013.

It was hectic during check-in but we were warmly greeted by the Manager on duty (did not catch his name). He provided us a map with places of interest near the hotel and helped to check if our room was ready despite us arriving pretty early. Concierge staff happily helped us with our luggage as well. Additionally, we were unable to make a reservation for our dinner due to the lack of calling services and Manager Emily gladly assisted us with it. This hotel did not live up to our expectations for a 5 star hotel. When we came to our room there was only one double bed even though we were 4 people and had booked a room with two double beds. After some time we realised they “upgraded” us to a bigger suite, but in that suite only one double bed was possible. Why would they do this without consulting us? This took us unnecessary time and effort to get this fixed and swapped back to the room we actually had booked. The hotel is fine, but lacks detail: the bathroom doors didn’t close properly, I found at least 5 intimate hairs that didn’t belong to our family, the light switches are super annoying, they sometimes doesn’t work and you can’t really decide by yourself what lights you want on/off. The breakfast was a disappointment - a lot of the stuff was almost empty, it was messy, many tables didn’t get cleared right away, and both mornings we had to wait to be seated. I didn’t expect this from Four Seasons. We appreciated the robes for our kids, the pool, the vallet staff, the showers.

The hotel is rather new and the design is good. The room is modern and clean, the bed is very comfortable, the TV is huge. All electronics, lights, TV, curtains, A/C are voice controlled which is a problem if you don't speak Chinese. The reception staff was nice and helpful but clearly they don't have a lot of experience dealing with tourists (nor foreigners). The gym is a joke... the flimsy bench I would even call dangerous. Very good is that their are washing machines and dryers available. A recommendation: put a chair in the room. A guest needs a chair to sit for writing, eating, etc.

Service is excellent. Arrived early at 12pm, and receptionist checked and told room undergoing inspection and ready soon. I have 2 separate reservations on the same room type, due to flight changes, and they are able to put me in the same room, and not require a room change in between. Room is clean and tidy upon check-in. They also provide kid's slippers, but you need to ask them for it. Only note is that there is no room safe. Breakfast is good and changed daily. Location is close to Tianjin train station and a MTR station, with 5 minutes walk. You have to walk slightly further to shopping malls further, but is no issue. Also walkable to Italy square ~ 10 mins walk. They also have a 7-11 store downstairs where you can pick up essential items. Also have a DIY washing/drying machine for your clothing, if you need it.

I arrived before 10am and was received by 2 friendly staff (forgotten to ask for their names). The room was ready and check in immediately. Room - clean and spacious, beautiful view of sunrise. Location - just beside Tianjin railway and MRT station (walk to North Square and exit 6). Very near to tourists attractions. There are many eating places around the location. Will recommend to my friends and definitely stay here if I am in Tianjin again.

Overall we had a lovely stay here. The location is great, and the rooms and reception area were beautifully decorated. The pool and gym were amazing (best hotel gym I've ever seen!), and never very busy. Staff were friendly and polite. And there was never a queue for the lifts. There were a few niggles which I'll list below for other people who appreciate these types of details, but they were by no means deal breakers. Niggles included: - we always had a long wait at reception to be served - the deposit is large (almost the price of the stay again) - no plugs on one side of the bed so you can't charge your phone next to you - the minibar wasn't very cold - no takeout delivery to rooms (usually this is done by robot) - beds are very soft which might give some people backache - our toilet cistern kept running (we fixed it ourselves every time) - the shower leaked - the blinds over the windows are all or nothing, there are no curtains that you can just pull over part of the window - the swimming pool is very shallow at just 1.2 metres with no deep end - this made swimming difficult for both of us as we're on the taller side - you must sign a declaration before every swim/workout (I think once per customer would be enough!) and wear a swimming cap in the pool (the hotel sells them).
