Tricky to find your way to this place and at night the location is very isolated didn't feel safe to walk from the Bullring. There was a water problem and I feel it should have been communicated this at check-in however was compensated for water issue and thankful. I stayed in an ensuit and I know it's a hostel however there should at least be a kettle in the room just you get towels for this just my observation. Overall it was a pleasant stay as I would imagine they don't have water issues always.

Located on part of the Birmingham University campus in Edgbaston so good location for academic conferences / visiting the university, also short distance to dental hospital, cricket ground, tennis centre etc. Plenty of free parking including blue badge and EV charging. Check-in was quick and efficient. Angela, who checked us in, was friendly and helpful. There is a large bar which serves smaller meals throughout the day and also a restaurant in the evening. The bar food was average price for hotel food (£12+ for sandwich with some soup)  and average quality. Room was clean and tidy, with modern decor. It was very spacious and well equipped with seating and table, ironing board, plenty of pillows, pod coffee machine and plenty of coffee pods, tea bags etc. Black out blinds worked well and there was minimal noise from other rooms / corridor. Would definitely stay again if in the Edgebaston / Birmingham area.

Room is great size and has all the basic amenities you'll need in a three star hotel. It's clean and definitely updated compared to how it used to look years ago. Unfortunately, there's no AC, bed is a bit smaller compared to standard hotel. Bathroom was leaking when showering. Tap needs greasing as it was a bit stiff to lift. W/C flush needs fixing so it flushes properly. WiFi was very slow and intermittent. The reception area as well as the building exterior unfortunately still looks tired and dated still after so many years. I wish they'd repaint it as it's next to the bus station. Also, the breakfast food were overcooked. Bacon, chewy, hash brown looks likes cooked in used oil as it's so brown rather than golden colour. The brown bread taste bitter. The coffee wasn't nice either. I think it's time that Britannia invest in modernising their Coventry City centre chain. .

I had a really lovely stay at this hotel and would happily go back. The room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, which made it easy to actually relax. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful without being overbearing, and check-in/check-out was quick and smooth. The location was super convenient, close to everything I needed but still felt calm. Overall, great value for money and a very easy, pleasant stay.

appalling pressure emails to check in on line - which I ignored- cheerful efficient receptionist booked me in despite emails received a day or so before indicating that not checking in on line might cause difficulties. still only one lift working (seems a long term problem). allocated room on 5 th floor - corridors well carpeted, clean, and rather posh! room clearly upgraded and very nice with posh bathroom, huge tv which was easy to negotiate, kettle & lots of t, coffee & milk - appreciated. efficient heating, comfortable bed but only one pillow & no spare. took 7 minutes to reach reception in the morning as only one (very slow) lift. fabulous vfm, but they need to get lift sorted permanently & stop threatening that not checking in on line could cause difficulties! - actually recommended!

This was the second times I stayed in this hotel and found the staff very welcoming and friendly, which made check-in smooth and pleasant. The location is excellent—convenient for exploring the area and close to local attractions. The only downside was the noise at night, likely from nearby bars, which might be a consideration for light sleepers. Overall, a good spot for a short stay if you’re looking for comfort and accessibility.

TTamuVery pleasant stay.. pub restaurant offered info on food allergies. Food was great. Rooms (I rebooked) were great, bath and shower that actually did what they said… no getting soaked trying to turn on shower. As a single female traveller, felt safe. Will rebook next visit . Staff are friendly and helpful.
