“Wat Rueng Saeng” in Sirindhorn District, Ubon Ratchathani Province 🌿✨ 🏞️ Overview & History —•Wat Thar Tham Romruen is located on the top of Phu Phrao Mountain, along the Mekong River, near the Chong Mek border checkpoint. —•Built in 1952–1955 by Phra Ajahn Bunmak Thitipanyo, who intended it to be a center of Dharma and faith for Thai–Lao people together.  🎨 Highlights of Art & “Radiance” —•Lanna–Lan Chang style temple, blending in with the forest and mountain landscape, with beautiful roof tiles and structures.  —•The wall behind the wall (Kalpavriksha tree) is decorated with fluorescent paint that reflects light in dark corners. It can be seen most clearly when there is no light disturbing it, especially on a dark moon night.  🌅 Natural view & Mekong riverside atmosphere —•The temple area offers a view of the Mekong River, Laos, and the mountains, especially during sunset, giving a sense of peace and beauty.  —•The surrounding area simulates the atmosphere Himmapan Valley combines paintings, small waterfalls and a stream flowing around the temple () ⏰ Visiting hours & things to know -•Opening-closing hours: Open until early evening, before 21:00 (check again before dark) -•Entrance fee: Free of charge -•Evening-night is best for viewing the glowing images (recommended to come on a moonless night and turn off the flash when taking pictures) 🚗 How to get there — From Ubon Ratchathani city: Drive for about 2 hours, pass through Khong Chiam District or Chong Mek, take the highway to Phu Phrao and then go up the temple mountain following the signs — There is no public transportation.
