A Pleasant Stroll Along Yangjaecheon-gil

#cityplaybook Having finished a movie and a delicious udon lunch near Maebong Station, I recently found myself with an unexpectedly free and gloriously sunny Sunday afternoon. Deciding it was too beautiful to simply head home, I made a spontaneous decision to visit Yangjaecheon-gil, a well-known spot in Seoul that, at the time, was vibrant with cherry blossoms. On that particular Sunday, the cherry blossoms along Yangjaecheon were beautifully abundant, though I couldn't quite tell if they were at their absolute peak. While lovely, it felt like they hadn't quite reached that "full bloom" grandeur. Still, walking slowly amidst the cherry and forsythia blossoms was incredibly uplifting. It had been far too long since I'd enjoyed a peaceful walk in nature like this, especially given my recent reluctance to get moving! As expected of a popular destination, Yangjaecheon was bustling with people. It seemed everyone was out and about, enjoying the beautiful weather. I even spotted people walking their dogs, and others were posing for wedding photos. Further along, I noticed several art installations, which initially piqued my curiosity. Soon enough, it became clear that they were part of a festival.. As I walked from Maebong Station towards Yeongdong 1-gyo Bridge, the festival atmosphere intensified, with more people and vibrant energy. There were performances and a long line of booths, though navigating the crowds to get a good look was challenging. My initial hope for a leisurely, unhurried appreciation of the cherry blossoms was somewhat thwarted by the sheer number of people. Despite the crowds, Yangjaecheon is a truly beautiful spot for a stroll. The vibrant atmosphere and natural beauty made it a memorable experience. #strolling #streetwalk
