Sanpo-ji Temple

#1月好去地方2025 Phra Nam Chan Temple was built around 1324. It is located at the confluence of Chao Phraya River and Nam Pasak River, where the Chinese people lived in the early days. Therefore, it is said that the temple enshrines Zheng He, the eunuch who sailed to the West during the Ming Dynasty. Although there is no statue of Zheng He in the temple, only a huge 19-meter-high sitting Buddha, the overseas Chinese here believe that it is the incarnation of Sam Po Kong, and it is also called "Sam Po Kong Temple". Through the corridor you can reach another smaller Buddhist temple, which houses three golden Buddhas. The one on the far left is made of pure gold. It has the same story as the Golden Buddha Temple in Bangkok, where it was covered with cement to prevent the Burmese army from taking it away. Eventually, the cement collapsed unexpectedly, revealing the golden Buddha.
