Emeishan

Emeishan is located on the southwestern edge of the Sichuan Basin. It is named after its slender and beautiful shape, which is said to resemble a woman's eyebrows. The main peak is Mount Da'e, where the Golden Summit of Emeishan is located. Huazang Temple and the Ten Directions Samantabhadra Statue are located on the Golden Summit. The highest point of Mount Da'e is called the Wanfoding, which is 3,099 meters above sea level. The altitude of the Baoguo Temple Visitor Center is about 540 meters. The altitude difference of more than 2,500 meters is not a small number, and the road distance is 48 kilometers. Visitors can drive 28 kilometers to the Zero Kilometer Parking Lot, and then take a tour bus or walk the remaining 20 kilometers. We drove from Leshan City to Emeishan City via the Longhan Expressway, and the sun was setting when we got off the expressway. We accepted the kindness of a young man who was soliciting customers, and he and his sister led us 17 kilometers to their inn in Wuxiangang. After breakfast the next day, we took a tour bus to Leidongping, about 42 kilometers away. From there, it is about 2 kilometers to the Golden Summit, and we chose to take the cable car round-trip. On the Golden Summit, thick fog sometimes envelops the area, and you can only see a few feet in front of you. Sometimes the wind blows the clouds away, revealing a patch of blue sky. Sometimes a cloud suddenly shines brightly, like a Buddha's light, and the surrounding peaks and valleys appear and disappear, with the sound of the wind echoing in your ears. It is clear that all the tourists here appreciate the splendor of Buddhist architecture and are intoxicated by the beautiful picture of nature. We met several groups of young people hiking to the Golden Summit on the mountain road, including young men and women. The shortcut through the mountains is about 30 kilometers one way. The young people's faith is strong, their courage is sufficient, and their feet are hard, which is commendable and gratifying.
