Enjoy a Weekend Getaway in the Miyun Mountains, with a Guide

Here's a two-day, one-night itinerary for a trip near Shang'an Village in Miyun. Open-air hot springs ♨️ + mountain hiking 🥾 + stargazing at the observatory 🌌 Enjoy a weekend getaway in the mountains near Beijing~ . The mountains here aren't very high, but the view from the top is breathtaking, with clear waters resembling "Thousand Island Lake." The viewing platform offers a panoramic view of the reservoir. The view wasn't very clear on the day we went, but it must be stunning when the weather is good. . For a weekend getaway with friends after the New Year, we chose the Fairytale Treehouse Shang'an Homestay 🏡 at the foot of the mountain. The homestay had a bonfire, and roasting marshmallows and potatoes made for a particularly warm late winter afternoon. The dreamy purple house shone brightly in the setting sun. We relaxed in the hot springs and enjoyed a floating afternoon tea 🍵. . In the evening, we didn't have to cook. The housekeeper prepared a steaming hot lamb spine hot pot. No daily chores, just pure comfort. It's a perfect place for a gathering with family or a few friends. Adults can dine, chat, and drink tea ☕️, while children play and make lanterns. . It truly brought to life the saying: "May you have warm porridge and someone to share the twilight with." . ✅ Itinerary Day 1️⃣ 10:00 Depart from Beijing 12:00 Lunch in Miyun City 13:00 Hike in the mountains of Qingdongshan-Sanjiaosi, overlooking the reservoir 15:00 Check in to Fairytale Treehouse Shang'an, roast marshmallows, and participate in the bonfire 16:30 Private hot spring afternoon tea 18:30 Dinner . Day 2️⃣ 8:30 Breakfast delivered to the room by the housekeeper 9:00 Hike in the mountains of Shang'an Village, overlooking the reservoir 11:00 See the swans 🦢 at the Qingshui River in Taishitun Town 12:00 Lunch 13:00 Bulaotun Observatory 📡 15:00 Pengheyan, the viewing platform offers a view of the Baihe Great Bend . ✅ Qingdongshan-Sanjiaosi Round trip: 3.2 km, free. Overlook the reservoir from Sanjiaosi Temple. The road further up is not easy to walk on and is not suitable for children. 📍 Navigate to "Qiaoyuan" 🅿️ Large free parking lot . ✅ Shang'an Village mountain hike The trailhead is 2 minutes from the homestay. It takes 30 minutes to reach the summit. Round trip: 3 km. Stone steps and boardwalk. The viewing platform at the big rock is a good spot to stop. The road further up is quite steep. 📍 Qingshulin Homestay Restaurant 🅿️ Free parking for about 8 cars, with charging stations . ✅ Taishitun Town Qingshui River 🦢 📍 Taishitun Town. There are swans on the Qingshui River in winter. You can stop by to see them. . ✅ Bulaotun Observatory 📡 Filming location of the TV series "Three-Body Problem." It's actually more beautiful to photograph here in the evening. . ✅ Pengheyan 📍 Pengheyan bus stop. There is a viewing platform outside the tunnel where you can see the Baihe Great Bend. A wide-angle lens is needed. Drone shots are even better here. . This weekend, hike in the mountains, soak in hot springs, and gaze at the "Beijing Sea" under the starry sky. It's truly wonderful~
