Recommended Short Trip from Bangkok! Koh Samet.

Koh Samet, a beach resort popular among locals, is about 4 hours away from Bangkok by bus and boat. While Pattaya is well-known as a beach resort easily accessible from Bangkok, Koh Samet is definitely the favorite among locals. The beach, with its beautiful sea and pristine white powdery sand, transforms at night with tables and chairs set up for a romantic dinner setting.

Thailand|Less crowded romantic beach—Samed Island

Thailand|Less crowded romantic beach—Samed Island

I was amazed by Samed Island in Thailand at first sight, it's incredibly beautiful and transparent, with few people and stunning scenery. Here's a guide to the attractions of Samed Island: Attraction name: Samed Island Samed Island is located on a small island in the Gulf of Thailand, with a fairy-tale natural beach. The beach is white, clean, and romantic; the sea water is clear and bright, very blue, with distinct layers; stepping on the soft sand is very comfortable, the atmosphere is full, suitable for calming down and experiencing slow life. Samed Island has an excellent geographical location, a good place to watch the sunset, with complete facilities, superb environment, suitable for beach walks, sunbathing, experiencing water amusement projects, quiet and comfortable, relaxing, a paradise for leisure vacations, the island has "eat, drink, play, live" all in one, it's worth a visit. Experience: The overall experience is super nice, incredibly beautiful, comfortable and easy, it's easy to take pictures, very satisfied with the overseas trip.

On the second day, the whole island was on the bike. From the particularly liked Wai Beach, you can make cool pictures, tubtim beach and viewpoint Laem Toei. The food was quite tasty, especially to highlight nothing, in Mahasamut & The Ocean Pizza delicious pizza. 🍕Generally, I recommend visiting this island for 2 nights!🏝️

The gem of Rayong Province

Koh Samet, named after the abundant ‘Samet' trees (Thai for cajeput trees), offers all of the vital aspects of a fun-filled holiday escape – an unending expanse of turquoise blue sea, crescent coves with fine white sand, plenty of water sports, and a pulsing nightlife. Despite the fact that Koh Samet receives substantially less rainfall than other Thai resorts, travelers are soaked. The island, which is only a three-hour drive from Bangkok and 45 minutes by ferry from the mainland's Ban Phe Pier, is generally busy with people on weekends and long holidays. From seaside bungalows to cliff-top luxury resorts, a wide selection of lodgings appeal to a diverse range of travelers. #easylife#nationalpark#seasidephotoguide#summervacation#beachvacation#urbanexplorer

Accommodation on Koh Samet at Sai Kaew Beach

It's the season to visit Koh Samet! If you're planning a trip to Koh Samet, I recommend finding accommodation near Sai Kaew Beach. We suggest Diamond Beach Resort Samed, which is right on Sai Kaew Beach and reasonably priced. We stayed in a beach front room, just a few steps from the sea. The room was beautiful, clean, and had a bathtub and a balcony with a sea view. The beach in front of the resort has clear, clean water. At night, it's lively and you can walk to a 7-11. It's a great location on Koh Samet.

#familytrips2024 Winkks Beach Club on Koh Samet offers an unforgettable café experience with its amazing vibes and stunning views. Located right on Sai Kaew Beach, the place is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating options. You can even choose to sit right on the beach. The menu features a variety of drinks, pastries, and dishes, both Thai and European. I tried the orange coffee and lychee coffee, and they were delightful. The combination of a beautiful view and delicious food makes it a perfect spot to unwind. The café is conveniently located within the Sai Kaew Beach Resort area. Just a short 200-meter walk away is a highlight: a heart-shaped tree, perfect for photography, especially in the morning. At night, the place transforms with live music and fire shows, creating a vibrant atmosphere. It's an ideal spot to enjoy some nightlife while capturing great content. If you're on Koh Samet, don't miss out on Winkks Beach Club. The experience is truly worth the visit!

Encountered the stunningly beautiful fine white sandy glass sea at Koh Samet

Encountered the stunningly beautiful fine white sandy glass sea at Koh Samet

Fine white sand, glass sea, truly amazing, loved it. Having been to Phuket (multiple times), Krabi, Phi Phi Islands, Pattaya, Maldives, Seychelles (ranked 1st and 3rd in the world for beaches), Bali in Indonesia, Sabah in Malaysia, Okinawa in Japan, Hamilton Island in Australia, Bornholm Island in the Baltic Sea, Langkawi in Malaysia, the east coast of South Korea... If comparing in terms of convenience of transportation, cost-performance ratio, sand, sea water, and food, overall, I give Koh Samet the highest score. Rented a motorcycle on Koh Samet and rode all over the island. The beaches on the east side of the island are all beautiful, with white and fine sand, and very clear glass sea water. The sand at Diamond Beach is the finest and whitest, very powdery and cotton-like. Diamond Beach is lively with the main street here, and there are many choices for hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, massages, etc. Ao Wai Beach wins for being less crowded and tranquil, the water is beautiful, and the sand is very white and fine, slightly less so than Diamond Beach, but negligible. I snorkeled here, it was average, not many fish. Ao Wai is more remote, so there are few restaurant choices here, and you have to go to Diamond Beach to shop. I also went to the viewpoint at the southernmost tip of the island, where you can see both the sunset and sunrise. However, there are no other restaurants nearby except for a Paradise Hotel, so you can only enjoy the scenery, it's really too remote, and it takes more than 20 minutes to ride a motorcycle to Diamond Beach. We went to Ao Phrao Beach on the west side of the island for sunset dinner, the sand didn't look white, it was coarser, with many pebbles. But the sunset here is great, and it's the only beach on the island with good restaurants for watching the sunset. So a good plan seems to be to stay at Diamond Beach, idle away an afternoon at Ao Wai, have a sunset dinner at Ao Phrao, and watch a sunrise or sunset at the southernmost point. Overall, there are not many hotel choices on Koh Samet. Apart from the Paradise Hotel which is nice but very remote, the best you can get is four stars, but that's enough for a holiday feel. Compared to a very mature, fully competitive place like Phuket, there are fewer hotel choices here and the same standard is more expensive. Everything else is not expensive, and massages are even cheaper here.

Coral Bay Viewpoint at the End of Koh Samet

Today, I had the opportunity to take my friends to visit Koh Samet. We rode motorcycles to the end of the island, which is under the care of the National Park Protection Unit No. 1 (Ao Phrao). This viewpoint offers a stunning view of both the sunrise and sunset, with signs indicating the beautiful scenery. The area is not crowded, providing a great atmosphere, but it requires a bit of a walk to reach.

Koh Samet: A Getaway Near Bangkok

Today, I want to introduce a summer destination not far from Bangkok - Koh Samet! This is my second time visiting this island. If you have 2-3 days, you can come and relax here. Advantages of Koh Samet - Convenient travel - Close to Bangkok, not very expensive - Clear water, not too crowded - Various activities: snorkeling, kayaking, chilling at cafes - Affordable accommodations Koh Samet Travel Plan This trip, I went with friends, a total of 5 people. We decided to drive ourselves, taking about 3-4 hours (including a lunch stop). We parked our car at Ban Phe Pier in Rayong. Day 1: We left Bangkok around 8 AM and took a regular boat from Ban Phe Pier, which took less than an hour. We arrived at Koh Samet around 2 PM, including the queue at the pier. At 3 PM, we took a songthaew to our accommodation, which was a house for all 5 of us. At 5 PM, after unpacking and resting a bit, we went out for dinner. The accommodation offered a BBQ service by the sea. After dinner, we returned to our place. Day 2: We woke up early to watch the sunrise, took a walk on the beach, and had breakfast. After freshening up, we walked along the beach to a cafe for some photos. In the evening, we walked on the beach again and had dinner at Ploy Talay Restaurant, where we watched a fire show. Even though it was my second time seeing it, I still enjoyed it. After the show, we returned to our accommodation. Day 3: We slept in a bit, packed our things, took a songthaew to the pier, and took the ferry back to Ban Phe Pier. We then drove back to Bangkok, stopping for lunch along the way. It was a short and budget-friendly trip with friends, not far from Bangkok. The total cost was about 4,000 baht. By the way, the water at Koh Samet is really clear!
