#europetrip Very spacious restaurant in a great location with good vegetarian/vegan food. The coffee and the brunch were delicious and came with a lot of food. We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't busy but I would recommend to book a table if going with a group. Very nice place to enjoy a beverage and relax for a bit. Very good location. The pastries are from out of this world.

The best hotel to stay in Basel!

I visited Hotel Märthof Basel during February 2023 together with my sister, and I can say for sure that we will definitely come back! It’s a relatively new high-end hotel in Basel, a perfect choice for your accommodation. I was first of all impressed by the service, as the staff were always kind, smiling and willing to help. Next is the interior design! The common areas were covered in black and gold colours and relaxed atmosphere. We stayed at the Marktplatz Suite which was huge with a really comfortable bed and a super aesthetic bathtub. The whole suite was beautifully decorated and offered an amazing view to the Marktplatz square. The breakfast included a great selection of everything we could ask for and the quality was excellent. Finally the views to the city from the rooftop are not to be missed! I totally recommend this hotel for your stay in Basel! #basel #vacation #luxuryhotel #besthotels #besthotels #switzerland #swiss

#europetrip They sometimes offer amazing live music evenings, keep an eye on the banner in front of the bar where they announce their Jazz evenings, it's probably the best jazz you can find in Basel! This cafe is self serve, but a must visit. The food is delicious and the atmosphere on the terrace is lovely. Be warned, it's a favorite among the locals and getting a table can be challenging. Definitely worth the visit.

Zoo Basel 🗺️

#summerdestinations A day at Zoo Basel was an absolute delight! 🦁 Located right in the heart of Basel, Switzerland, this zoo is one of the oldest in Europe and it shows in the best way possible—full of history, charm, and incredible animals. The entrance fee is a bit on the higher side at around CHF 21 for adults and CHF 10 for children, but trust me, it's worth every penny. From the moment I walked through the gates, I was amazed by the beautiful landscaping and the variety of animals. The zoo is home to a wide range of creatures, from African elephants and giraffes to playful otters and even some exotic reptiles. My personal highlight was the lion enclosure, where I got to see a lioness basking in the sun while her cubs played nearby. 🦁 The monkey house was another crowd-pleaser, with several different species swinging around and interacting with visitors. I also loved the aquarium area, where you could see everything from colorful fish to massive sea turtles 🐢. What’s great about Zoo Basel is how well it’s laid out. It’s not too big, so it’s easy to see everything in one visit without feeling rushed. There are plenty of shaded spots to sit and relax, which was much appreciated on a sunny day. For families, there are playgrounds and picnic areas, making it a perfect spot for a full-day outing. After exploring the zoo, I took a short stroll to the nearby Basel Minster, a beautiful cathedral just a few minutes away. The zoo is also conveniently close to the banks of the Rhine, which is perfect for an afternoon walk. 🌊 #trip #ZooBasel #FamilyFun #SwissAdventure #WildlifeExperience #ExploreBasel

#europetrip Simply brilliant and comfortable. I was invited to have brunch here as a birthday present. The food was very fine. The plate, or rather the board, was filled with various fine delicacies. The little pancakes are delicious. The ambience was simple, but that's what makes it so special. A very relaxed, cozy atmosphere. You almost don't want to leave here anymore. The staff is extremely friendly and customer-oriented. This is exactly what you want in every restaurant.

Basel's best

Many people underestimate Basel and use it just as a gate to the triple border with France and Germany, but if you give a chance to the city you will see how many attractions there are waiting for you 😃 The historic city center with its cabbleston streets and flowers everywhere has unique charm. The crazy Tinguely fountain, modern art, graffiti, nice shops and the river among others will bring you unforgettable memories 😎 #voyagevibes #100waysoftravel #basel #switzerland #europetrip

#europetrip Wow! Young and hip spot with a seriously good menu…. ☺️Both food and coffee drinks. Super trendy space inside and out.. Shakshuka was a revelation, especially with their tasty bread to dip in it. Seems to be in an up and coming / gentrifying neighborhood and worth the trek from the old town or nearby tram/trolly stops. Really recommend 😍😉😉😉😉

Christmas Market in Basel 🎄

When we booked the flight to Basel, 1 did not know what to expect as we both hadn't been back to in Switzerland in a long time. But Basel was more than I expected. We got to the Christmas market on the first day that it opened. And let me tell you, best decision that we made. The market wasn't super crowded, and you can actually enjoy the city while you wander through the stalls. So if you decide to come to Basel for the Christmas market for 2023 you should come on the first week. Wish to come back again for 2023 Christmas 🎄 #wintergetaway #tripblazers #urbanexplorer
