No. 11 in Colombo is the private residence of Geoffrey Bawa. After 30 years of renovation, you can explore the inspiration behind Bawa's various designs in this small "museum" with its maze-like design, and experience the fusion of local architecture and exotic features. Bawa creatively uses geometric elements such as triangles, and uses different basic materials such as bricks, metal, and cement to shape the space. The light and shadow give the building a mysterious color. The furniture inside the building is also designed by him, reflecting the combination of new vision and traditional materials.

Thank you 2022 for an incredible year! 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka (February-March) This was my first time exploring this incredible country. From the busy streets of Colombo to picturesque train journeys through the tranquil mountains around Ella, from the unique food culture in Jaffna to coconuts on the beaches in Unawatuna, Sri Lanka really has it all. 🇯🇵 Japan (April-) In April (a year delayed thanks to covid), I finally achieved my dream of moving to Japan. After a few days enjoying the cherry blossoms in Tokyo, I traveled south to my new home near Kyoto. These past nine months I've explored all around Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and nearby - with trips further afield planned for 2023! 🇻🇳 Vietnam (September) In September, I took a week's holiday to visit Vietnam. Hanoi was an incredible insight into the culture of this country, while Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh were unmissible opportunities to enjoy the amazing scenery. I ended my trip in Ho Chi Minh City, learning about the history of Vietnam. 🇱🇰 Stunning Red Mosque in Pettah Market

Completed in 1909, Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Colombo. It is located on Second Cross Street in Pettah District, where you can find one of the the largest and busiest open-air markets in Sri Lanka. It is undeniable that the red mosque painted in distinctive red and white striped is the most beautiful landmark in the area. The mosque can be easily reached by both bus and tuk-tuk. Visitors regardless of gender and religion can visit the mosque during certain timings. Remember to dress modestly. The mosque is surrounded by wthe always crowded Pettah Market. Urban Beach 🏖️

#beachvacation Although I grew up in a province surrounded by Indian ocean 🌊 on two sides with the second longest shore in the world 🌍, there's always one hesitation in going to the beach 🏖️ which is getting into the beach clothes 😁 As I ain't someone with such nice beach body, going to this urban beach during my Sri Lanka visit was totally worth it. You may still get down to the 🪨 rocky places and have fun there in the water though. Resonating with the common beach ⛱️ scenes in the south east Asia, there are lot of small shops setup in van 🚚 with nice delicacies to enjoy 🍦 I'd also applaud the effort in making this place very neat and decent for families to enjoy!! #tripblazers#urbanexplorer#ukcreator #colombo

It was like entering in to paradise. The very warm welcome of the staff and the beautiful lobby, were just amazing. The room was big enough for 3 Adults and the facilities like swimming pool and fitness centre very nice, quiet and clean.At the fitness centre the personal coach Fernando Sumal was so kind to help us and gave us good tips for our training. In the evening we had snacks the Bar restaurant and the food was delicious. The staff during check-in and check-out was just lovely to us.We were able to do a late check out, as our flight was in the evening. Seema Malaka (Sinhala: සීමා මාලකය) is a Buddhist temple in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The temple is mainly used for meditation and rest, rather than for worship. Situated in the Beira Lake, the temple was originally constructed in the late 19th century. Seema Malaka is a part of the Gangaramaya Temple and is situated few hundred meters to its east.

Cinnamon Red Colombo 🇱🇰 Infinity pool & rooftop bar

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cinnamon Red Colombo. This 26-floor stylish hotel is close to most attractions in downtown Colombo. Our room was on the 24th floor and the views of the city through the glass-sided wall were superb! Needless to say that the views from the infinity pool on the top floor and the rooftop bar were even more spectacular. We visited the rooftop bar twice throughout our stay. There was a live performance on Friday night. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. Our room was clean and spacious enough to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids. It's worth mentioning that there's an ice cube dispenser on every floor of the hotel which made making our own cold drinks much more convenient. The hotel was also accommodative in early check in and late check out subject to room availability. Viharamahadevi Park is one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the city of Colombo. A nice park to stroll around, have a break or chill out with friends. The gardens, grass and trees are well maintained, It is very clean, public toilets are accessible nearby and it has a picturesque lake. The recommended sightseeing time is between one to two hours. It is more comfortable to visit this place in the morning or late afternoon as the weather is quite hot. Boats are available for rent. Viharamahadevi Park

Viharamahadevi Park is the largest park in Colombo, located to the north of Independence Square. To the east of the park is the Colombo Town Hall, to the south is the Art Gallery, and not far to the north is the famous Gangaramaya Temple. The park was built by the British and was once known as Victoria Park. It features a beautiful environment with palm trees, large trees, and green spaces. Within the park, there are vast green areas, towering tropical trees, as well as fountains, sculptures, and other decorations, including a golden Buddha statue. Sri Lanka rebuilt this park in 1951 and opened it to the public, which is why it has attracted countless visitors to come and enjoy the experience.
