Zhangjiajie Ruke Hotel

Pro: Located in neighbourhood area, near local eateriss and supermarket. Can easily grab Didi for rmb 6 to the cable station. The room quite spacious and come with AI assistance. The staff gave a fantastic welcome when we arrive, even picking us from the HSR with a luxurious limo. Con You have to change to slipper at the lobby before going to the corridor leading to the room. Don't understand the logic The room is not very sound proof and I can near people singing in the middle of the night Breakfast is limited, healthy but not tasty and don't provide additional if you ask for more. We saw a tea pot set at the main hotel lobby and we ask the hotel staff if we can offer us some tea so that we can have some traditional Chinese tea there but the staff said no and instead pour us 2 cup of blend tea instead. We felt the staff is very sincere. In comparisons, We went to eat the nearby restaurant to eat and they gave a big bag of tea to bring home. In conclusion, the hotel excel in the hardware like hotel, lobby and room design, and hotel pick up service. But lack in term of the service level.

I booked the Ruke hotel because it looked good on the picture but I have to say if I ever go back to Zhangjiajie I would 100% go back there. This has been my best experience in a hotel so far in any country. Their level of service, hospitality and kindness is absolutely over the charts. Every detail is thought through to give you the best stay ever. Fantastic tailored breakfast, perfect shoeshine and amazing atmosphere, I had an amazing stay there. Their driver, a very nice chatty guy, picked me up at the station and immediately put me in the good mood with his easy manner. Then upon arriving in the hotel I was given welcome tea and biscuits while they did the check in for me and took care of my luggage. Then I was asked what I would like for breakfast and at what time it should be served. No buffet but a huge choice of local delicacies to choose from. And it just went on and on like that throughout my stay. This is by far my best experience and I am ever grateful to the whole staff for their ways. It made me feel very special. Thank you very much !! I don’t even mention the room itself, with a very nice balcony and voice control of all the elements (you have to speak Chinese) and the fact that it’s in walking distance to the Tian Men park entrance downtown. If you are going to Zhangjiajie, go to Ruke hotel, you won’t regret it!

Stayed 2 nights at Ruke Zhangjiajie. It is a very beautiful boutique hotel located just 13 mins walk from the Tianmen Mountain Cable Car Station. The hotel provided one way complimentary pick up service from the Airport or Train Station depending on the package you booked, which was an excellent addition to what they have to offer. The room is immaculately decorated, spacious and unpretentious. It is tastefully furnished. We booked the entry level Room which was very good in my opinion but we peeped into the higher category, it was magnificent. If you can splurge a bit, go for the higher room category. You will not regret it. All the hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful, in fact all they have provided to us an impeccable service during our stay. The breakfast was tasty and they have 3 different selections of "Set Menu". Hearty and delicious. My only concern was that you can only select either "Coffee/Tea" or "Fruit Juice" or "Yogurt". In my opinion, these 3 items served different purposes and should not be an option but to provide all who need it. Nonetheless, we still strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants something different and unique, and has the accessibility to Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain and the City Centre.

Very clean and well designed hotel in a good location with a great personnel. Most of the time I felt overwhelmed with the service. Would stay again if I visit Zhangjiajie another time.

I absolutely loved staying here. I wish I could stay even longer. It was a very comfortable, very cozy, and truly pleasant stay for 4 nights. I have traveled to 21 countries, and this is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The decor and the ambiance is solid throughout every inch of the hotel. They put a lot of thought and care into the layout and decorations, and it's stunning. My room had a cozy little balcony too which was perfect for relaxing after hiking around the Zhangjiajie National Park all day. But the staff are what make this hotel truly exceptional. Every single staff member was genuinely kind and wanted to help me with everything. They reached out to me several days prior to my arrival to get my arrival details so that they could pick me up from the airport, free of charge. Every day they provided breakfast at a time of my choosing (scheduled in advance of the next day), and allowed me to select menu options. They offer both Western and Chinese breakfast options. Every day they also brought me snacks and tea. They were always genuinely happy to see me and to help me with anything. A good example: on my last day I was heading out to the nearest "Busy for You" to get some snacks for the train the next day, and it was raining a little. I didn't mind since the walk wasn't far, but one of the young gentlemen working there ran after me to hand me an umbrella. They genuinely care for their guests. They offer free laundry service which I recommend. My clothes came back clean and in perfect condition. The restaurant is by reservation only, so please schedule dinner with them in advance if you would like to eat there. Didi had no trouble picking up or dropping off at the hotel. The Tianmen Cabelway Station is about a 15 minute walk away. The 72 Wonder Tower is about a 15 minute drive from the hotel. I had originally considered staying closer to the Zhangjiajie National Park, to be able to get there quicker and avoid lines. However, I am so glad I stayed here. There is more food and things available in town than in/closer to the park. I took a Didi from the hotel around 6:45am to the park. It took about 45 minutes with a slow Didi driver lol, and I didn't have any issues with lines. (Zhangjiajie East Gate, week of Sept 12). I absolutely loved staying here. I wish I could stay even longer. I definitely recommend staying here!
