Golden Sun Resort - Adults Only

Grab a sun bed early I mean early!!! End of first week great hotel as always, staff were great no issues apart from at times pool music was rather loud everything you want in yours rooms daily cleaning service food was fine can be busy at times . John and Minni keep the bar flowing no long waits happy to return again P.S. room tax is 7 euros per night per room paid on arrival .

Check in was swift and painless. Shown to our room personally by receptionist and concierge. Safe in room provided and free of charge, room spacious and very clean plus air conditioning that did a superb job in the ever increasing heat. Fridge and hair drier provided. Walk in spacious shower. Location very good about 150 meters from the beach and about 10 minute walk to the main part of town where various bars and restaurants can be found. Various trips available via street vendors and very reasonable. Pool area very spacious and clean(staff constantly collecting spare cups and glasses) not much of a problem getting a sunbed unless you want one with an umbrella as people realised how hot the sun got and needed shelter. Drinks normal AI standard so not complaining about that. Food was nice but only criticism I had was the choice wasnt varied enough for a 4 star hotel. Staff were were always pleasant and helpful from the cleaners to reception staff. All told for our first visit it was very enjoyable and we will probably return. However as there are a multitude of places to eat and drink nearby we may try bed and breakfast or half board if available.

Hotel located near the beach friendly staff happy to help cater for everyone . Can't fault anything about this hotel . The food is nice it also has a lovely pool which is still a bit cold drinks at the pool during the day the bar is opened at night altogether great holiday

Awful hotel awful staff awful food, it may be kept clean but the staff are disgusting. My 1 year old daughter needed a toddler bed so we’d asked, barring in mind on the booking it states toddler and 2 adults so they should have already been one set up especially as we arrived between 9-10pm. When the cot we asked for was brought to us it was broken we said it’s fine we’ll make do without one. We took the mattress of the single bed to put on the floor. She’s never slept in bed with her dad and I so didn’t settle when we’d tried. The single bed provided was too high for her and she’d have fallen out of it so the best option was a mattress on the floor. The cleaning staff came and had ago at us shouting her other workers in calling the reception and made us feel really uncomfortable and belittled. Also We were still in the room when she came to clean and we’d actually said to leave it and not do it as both my partner and I were changing and we were ignored the cleaner kept moving and grabbing at us to move us out her way! Anyway I was told by the cleaner to go to reception which I did where I was told I could not do that and that I will have a travel cot but the attitude given when told that was very degrading. All I did was make a situation safe for my daughter I don’t see the problem. The cleaners then kept talking about us walking past pointing directly at us and then to our room which is just rude. We got back after the day and they had bought us a cot, it was absolutely filthy is smelt of damp and mould that mattress literally looked like bed bugs where about to fall from it how do they expect a 1 year old baby to sleep on that? At dinner we asked for a high chair and told they was none, when they was. The food is cold disgusting and I wouldn’t give my dog it. Each time we come in and out we are now spoken to rudely by staff. Do not recommend for parents with young children at all.

Before staying at this hotel I read some really bad reviews particularly focused on the food and was a bit concerned. But upon arriving my concerns were blown out of the window. We've had the most amazing stay. Staff are incredibly polite and helpful. The rooms and whole place in general is spotless. The pool area is clean and well maintained and the food is wonderful. The beach is literally 5 minutes down the road, a couple of restaurants less than 5 minutes in the other direction. And within a 15 minute walk there are supermarkets, gift shops and plenty more restaurants and bars.I do intend to come back to this hotel, location, staff and comfort was 10/10

We really enjoyed this hotel. It was absolutely spotless and the staff work really hard to keep it that way. The rooms are nice and comfortable and cleaned daily - yes the sink is in the hallway which is weird but no big deal. The pool area is really nice and relaxing and there are plenty of sunbeds - if you want an umbrella you are best to get down there by about 8am otherwise not a problem. We went to the entertainment on Friday night which was really good fun. The only thing that was a bit hit and miss was the food, but no way near as bad as some of the comments on here say. We always found something to eat and it was always hot. The ***** of Kalamaki is a 10/15 minute walk away where you will find lots of bars and restaurants (we loved the Rose and Crown pub, lovely atmosphere and one of the few places where the wine is nice). Beach nearby is a bit disappointing as most of it is made up of private beaches for hotels but the sea is warm and we prefer the pool anyway. All in all a lovely holiday.

Back a week ago from Zante where we stayed at The Golden Sun Hotel. What a lovely clean place, the rooms, restaurant and pool and facilities are spotless, the gardens are very well looked after and beautiful. We were all inclusive which was great, food was ok a bit samey but to be expected. My mum is Gluten free so sometimes she found it ok some nights better than others but a decent selection. The room we had was spacious and overlooked the garden which was nice, the shower was brilliant tho we had the bathroom sink in the room outside the bathroom which was weird but we got used to it. The planes are very close to the airport so you saw them fly over head closely but it wasn't annoying. The pool is definitely not the coldest I've been in which was great but refreshing and is def needed it's very clean and I enjoyed it. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. They are one of the reasons we would go back. Nothing was ever to much. I do think they may need a few more sun loungers as they were all taken for at breakfast but the beach is a 5 min walk down the road so all good. While I was there for I noticed a wee black cat that had a wee kitten so I fed it everyday, there are a few cats about as an animal and nature lover it was the least I could do. There's plenty of nature around the area. We would def return to Kalamaki and to The Golden Sun

Just returned for the Golden Sun we had a fantastic 7 nights there our room as well as the whole hotel was spotless all the staff were always so friendly and always spoke.Our room (222) was spacious towels changed and room cleaned every day we knew we were on the flight pass so enjoyed watching them fly past.We found the food was plentyfull and hotOur only moan was not the hotel but the sun bed huggers who must of been up at sunrise.The hotel is literally on the beach and the main ***** 5mins walk away.We would return here again,i would ignore the negative views and make your own mind up

A short 35 minute transfer in an air conditioned coach started the great holiday Cases taken by the staff and easy and welcoming check in then shown to our rooms Lift to all floors We were in 227 garden view lovely sea views and sunsets close to the one flight of stairs and the lift Air conditioning safe fridge iron and kettle in the room all free Shampoo gel conditioner and lotion replenished daily Take extra coat hangers if you hang stuff up there are some provided Towels and beds changed daily and room cleaned Food great variety and plentiful meat veg potatoes pasta salads fruit and gorgeous desserts a Greek and Italian night were lovely Beer wine sodas and juices all on tap help yourself in the restaurant pool bar and other bar Coffee tea and chocolate also self serve plastic glasses are used in all outdoor areas ( people did take their own bigger ones) All inclusive lists of alcohol and cocktails available …others €10 each Snacks of fries cheese and ham toasties freshly made that day baguettes Ice cream available from the pool bar ( opens at 10 ) Pool open at 9 am … we did need to put towels down early if we wanted an umbrella but there were plenty of other sunbeds and places with seats in the shade There wasn’t much nightly entertainment but a wall of shelves with games and cards and books in the indoor bar … lots of bars on the ***** doing entertainment The beach is gorgeous shallow warm water very little seaweed… nests of turtles marked and cared for by staff a 2-3 minute walk away €20 for 2 beds and an umbrella for the day
