A trip beyond expectations. I didn't plan to go to Wenhai Village because the journey was too difficult, but because of Ritz-Carlton, I decided to go there anyway. It turned out that this choice was absolutely perfect. I arrived at around 4 pm. It was dark in Lijiang late, and it felt like the sun was still in the sky at 4 o'clock.
The whole hotel faces the snow-capped mountains and Wenhai, and you can get close to the small animals. The sheep, cows, and horses are all raised by the hotel. You can also choose to go up the mountain to pick pine cones and make a handmade one to take home. At night, the hotel guests can sit together and drink butter tea. This feeling is so wonderful and relaxing! It's a pity that I didn't see the sunrise on Jinshan this time. I look forward to coming again next time.

The location is not far from baisha ancient town, we were able to walk there at ease. There are free breakfast in the morning to save our time if we are in a hurry to the next place.

Houyuan B&B is truly a masterpiece by a master! It perfectly combines the architectural wisdom of the Naxi people with modern minimalist aesthetics, and every corner is a landscape painting. I particularly like the changes in light and shadow in the courtyard and corridor, and every shot I take turns to be a masterpiece.
🌺Ultimate service:
The ”seamless service” starting from the airport pick-up is amazing! The housekeeper not only warmed up the welcome fruit tea in advance, but also turned into a ”walking encyclopedia of Lijiang” - when taking us to explore the ancient village, he even told us about the medicinal value of the wild flowers in the corners. The wild experience of picking ferns is something I will never forget.
🎭 Deep cultural experience:
Learn to dance around the campfire and chat about Dongba culture with the B&B owner. The B&B makes Naxi culture a tangible part of everyday life. When the housekeeper A-mei demonstrated how to wear the costumes during the day and night, I suddenly understood what ”living intangible cultural heritage” means.
🍲Taste surprise:
I didn’t expect the bracken fried bacon in the B&B kitchen to be so authentic! We use the wild delicacies we picked in the morning, a surprising feast for your taste buds!

The most fortunate thing about this family trip to Lijiang is that we encountered this treasure residence. From the intimate contact before check-in to the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains that can be seen by opening the window, every detail is poetic and picturesque, intoxicating.
🌟Butler-style service, warm and spring-like care
The day before check-in, the homestay butler took the initiative to contact and carefully confirm the itinerary and needs. When we arrived, the butler was waiting in the courtyard and took the initiative to help carry the luggage. In the lobby, the proprietress was smiling, asking about our well-being, and enthusiastically introducing the precautions for check-in and the services to be provided, as if they were family members reunited after a long absence. Then a sumptuous afternoon tea was served, and the baby ate very happily.

The design of the room is amazing-the floor-to-ceiling windows face the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the misty peaks are like silver dragons. What's even better is that the room is filled with elegant wood incense, like the breath of pine forest springs, echoing the coldness of the snow-capped mountains, and the sense of luxury is overwhelming, even breathing has become a pleasure.

HHetiantian｜MO.DesignI originally lived in Lijiang Old Town and came to Baisha Ancient Town to visit. I didn't expect that Baisha's style is more primitive and closer to the snow-capped mountains, so I thought about changing to live here. When I looked at B&Bs, many of them were very modern in style and I didn't like them. I found The Naxi-style medieval style of this hotel is particularly atmospheric, so I placed an order immediately. The B&B is located on the edge of the village. It is very quiet at night. The public area and guest rooms are warmer than the photos. The unexpected surprise is that there is afternoon tea. and desserts, it was an unexpected surprise. Sitting in the backyard looking at the snow-capped mountains and drinking coffee☕ was so relaxing. Although I was on a business trip, I felt like I had a half-day of leisure in a B&B~

The hotel's service is really impeccable. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, the staff greeted me with a sincere smile, and also formed a 5-person service group to plan your itinerary and recommend surrounding attractions. I checked in in the afternoon and prepared a sumptuous afternoon tea. The breakfast on the second day was also rich. It is worth mentioning that the breakfast can be served until 12 o'clock, which is really suitable for people like me who love to sleep in.
Facilities:
Walking into the guest room, wooden furniture, tables and chairs, with soft beds and night lights, and wireless charging integrated with the night lights, it can really solve the urgent problem if you forget to bring a charger. The weather in Yunnan is relatively dry, and a humidifier is placed at the head of the bed. It automatically cuts off the power when there is no water, which is safe and considerate. Before we got there, I contacted the hotel if it is comfortable for my mom to stay there because she is 88 years old and need to use wheelchair. After that they made up a wechat group to facilitate us. The staff who took care of us , xiao juan , helped us with the trip plan, escorted us to the ancient town of Dayan and Shuhe ,lead us to understand the town of Baisha and helped us with everything we need. She shows her emphaty to people with everthing she does.All the staffs there are young , polite and friendly. The location of the hotel is very suitable for exploring the ancient town of Baisha. The view of the snow mountain can be seen from the inner garden and more clearly from the third floor of the hotel.The room is comfortable with good quality bedsheet , blanket , towels and the heating floor. The breakfast is adequate with a set of chinese small dishes together with a choice of boiled rice or noodles. They provide free coffee all day with daily afternoon tea set and late night sweet soup and plum wine. I feel like I have nothing to ask more and wish to express my gratitude to all the staffs here. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all who need to receive impressive service from these lovely staffs.

While the facilities are adequate, the layout lacks privacy. For instance, to use the cabin's toilet, all curtains on the first level must be closed. Additionally, the toilet bowl is situated behind stairs without any curtains, potentially allowing others in the cabin to see. Moreover, the second-level flooring consists of planks with numerous gaps, providing visibility to the first level, including the bathtub and toilet bowl.
I strongly advise against booking this accommodation for families with children due to the safety risk posed by the sliding doors on the second level, which lack safety measures. While they offer a unique view of the mountain, the danger of potential falls is significant. If you do choose to consider it as a family cabin, I recommend checking with the staff to lock the doors from the outside for added safety.
Despite the unexpected aspects mentioned above, our overall stay was still decent. The staff were hospitable and helpful throughout our visit. Communication was convenient via WeChat for check-in details, recommendations, and self-checkout. It seems that the camping style of accommodation was a selling point, it’s definitely a unique stay. I’m sure there’s a specific crowd that would fully enjoy the experience.
