I love this homestay. I have stayed in this place for the third time. It’s a beautiful, well maintained guesthouse with a caring, lovely owner in one of the most pretty, tiny mountain villages that I have seen so far in China.
But I need to issue a serious warning about the recent developments on the hiking trails that surround the village. It took the young people who are now massively flocking these trails, less than a year to completely trash the trails with plastic garbage. This is NOT OK. This insensitive behavior is devastating and upsetting. It is unacceptable! The principle that all hikers and trekkers should follow when they enter the mountains is “to leave no traces”. Every plastic bottle, every plastic bag, every plastic food wrap, every oxygen bottle, every plastic rain cape, every aluminum bin, everything, that someone takes into the mountains, he or she has to take out of the mountain and to properly discard in the village’s official garbage bins. The purity and peace of natural places like this is fragile and vulnerable. Don’t take it for granted. Don’t destroy it.
