I arrived at this hotel after a long day. It was raining and snowing, so I didn't mind paying a high price for this hotel room. Tiger Leaping Gorge is not far away, so this is a tourist area with really beautiful sights.
Even though the kitchen was closed, they still prepared a huge dinner for me.
Restaurants and shops nearby otherwise.

The core advantages I think:
1. It is located in the valley between Blue Moon Valley and Yak Ping, and you can drive directly to the Yak Ping cableway to park!
2. The traffic from the mountain back to the tourist center is not as congested as going up the mountain to the tourist center;
3. The homestays in the scenic area can avoid the restriction of only two days of mountain entry fees. If you want to go to all the cableways, you can go to one cableway a day;
4. There is less light pollution in the mountains, which is friendly for taking pictures of the starry sky;
5. It may be a homestay with a relatively low altitude and the highest cost-effectiveness in the scenic area.
Notes:
1. Try not to drive into the mountain at night😩;
2. You should be able to leave the scenic area halfway, but it is recommended not to do so. It is very tiring. You can solve all the food and oxygen bottles in the homestay at a reasonable price;
3. After all, you still have to pay attention to the problem of altitude sickness in the mountains. Personally, I can't sleep at night and breathe some oxygen to relieve insomnia.

We are so impressed with the service & this place. The location is amazing & they had coffee shop on top of the mountain. They provided free pick up and drop off from Lijiang AND they also gave free ride to the Yulong Snow Mountain. The staffs went above and beyond to help us with everything including booking the cable car ticket. They can speak English which were very helpful as we cannot speak Mandarin. Highly recommend this to everyone!!

It was a great experience. You can watch the sunrise over Jinshan Mountain while lying down. The handsome boy was enthusiastic in service. He turned on the heating for us in advance because he was afraid that we would be cold. He patiently explained the equipment in the room and reminded us that the temperature difference between morning and evening was large, so we should keep warm. He also helped us prepare afternoon tea. The environment was beautiful and clean, and the stars were clearly visible at night. The children asked me to bring them here next time 😁 The biggest gain from this trip

✨The beauty of design:
Houyuan B&B is truly a masterpiece by a master! It perfectly combines the architectural wisdom of the Naxi people with modern minimalist aesthetics, and every corner is a landscape painting. I particularly like the changes in light and shadow in the courtyard and corridor, and every shot I take turns to be a masterpiece.
🌺Ultimate service:
The ”seamless service” starting from the airport pick-up is amazing! The housekeeper not only warmed up the welcome fruit tea in advance, but also turned into a ”walking encyclopedia of Lijiang” - when taking us to explore the ancient village, he even told us about the medicinal value of the wild flowers in the corners. The wild experience of picking ferns is something I will never forget.
🎭 Deep cultural experience:
Learn to dance around the campfire and chat about Dongba culture with the B&B owner. The B&B makes Naxi culture a tangible part of everyday life. When the housekeeper A-mei demonstrated how to wear the costumes during the day and night, I suddenly understood what ”living intangible cultural heritage” means.
🍲Taste surprise:
I didn’t expect the bracken fried bacon in the B&B kitchen to be so authentic! We use the wild delicacies we picked in the morning, a surprising feast for your taste buds!
This experience of staying at Lijiang Houyuan gave me a new understanding and deep feelings about Lijiang. It is not just a tourist destination, but also a place full of charm and cultural heritage. Because of Houyuan, I fell in love with Lijiang even more and look forward to my next return. I will definitely bring my family here again so that they can also feel this beauty and warmth. The most fortunate thing about this family trip to Lijiang is that we encountered this treasure residence. From the intimate contact before check-in to the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains that can be seen by opening the window, every detail is poetic and picturesque, intoxicating.
🌟Butler-style service, warm and spring-like care
The day before check-in, the homestay butler took the initiative to contact and carefully confirm the itinerary and needs. When we arrived, the butler was waiting in the courtyard and took the initiative to help carry the luggage. In the lobby, the proprietress was smiling, asking about our well-being, and enthusiastically introducing the precautions for check-in and the services to be provided, as if they were family members reunited after a long absence. Then a sumptuous afternoon tea was served, and the baby ate very happily.
🏔️Snow-capped mountains as a curtain, picturesque window views
The design of the room is amazing-the floor-to-ceiling windows face the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the misty peaks are like silver dragons. The light and shadows of dawn and dusk change, and the snow-capped mountains are sometimes covered with gold and sometimes dyed with clouds, as if a natural oil painting is hanging in front of the window. In the afternoon, leaning on the soft couch by the window, opening the free sparkling water in the refrigerator, watching the snow-capped mountains dancing with the flowing clouds, time seems to freeze here. What's even better is that the room is filled with elegant wood incense, like the breath of pine forest springs, echoing the coldness of the snow-capped mountains, and the sense of luxury is overwhelming, even breathing has become a pleasure.
🌿Details are perfect, ingenious
The care of the homestay permeates every corner: the bedding is made of high-end materials, the hardness is just right, and you can sleep soundly all night without dreams; the toiletries are Parma, and the bathroom facilities are also full of high-end feeling, especially when you take a bath in the bathtub while watching the snow-capped mountains next to the large floor-to-ceiling windows, and you can get rid of all your fatigue and the style is full. Surprisingly, the room is equipped with Bluetooth speakers and projectors. When you take a bath at night, you can listen to light music and look up to the snow-capped mountains and starry sky, which is extremely romantic.
🍃 Courtyard elegance, Naxi style
The courtyard design of the B&B combines the needs of taking photos and checking in with modern aesthetics. There is also a small pool in the center. The water in the pool ripples freely under the snow-capped mountains with the mountain breeze, and the sun shines on the bluestone slabs. A casual shot is a new Chinese blockbuster. Sitting in the courtyard in the afternoon, flipping through a book, learning about the ancient legends of Lijiang, the hustle and bustle of the ancient city in the distance seems to be filtered, leaving only the tranquility of time flowing.

I didn't expect that Baisha's style is more primitive and closer to the snow-capped mountains, so I thought about changing to live here. I found The Naxi-style medieval style of this hotel is particularly atmospheric, so I placed an order immediately. The B&B is located on the edge of the village. It is very quiet at night. The public area and guest rooms are warmer than the photos. The unexpected surprise is that there is afternoon tea. and desserts, it was an unexpected surprise. Sitting in the backyard looking at the snow-capped mountains and drinking coffee☕ was so relaxing. Although I was on a business trip, I felt like I had a half-day of leisure in a B&B~

CChitrlada HarnWhen my mother agreed to visit Lijiang with me, I browsed many hotels in Trip.com and sorted out this hotel out of many hotels with good reviews without knowing beforehanded that this will fulfill my satisfaction to the most. Before we got there, I contacted the hotel if it is comfortable for my mom to stay there because she is 88 years old and need to use wheelchair. After that they made up a wechat group to facilitate us. The staff who took care of us , xiao juan , helped us with the trip plan, escorted us to the ancient town of Dayan and Shuhe ,lead us to understand the town of Baisha and helped us with everything we need. She shows her emphaty to people with everthing she does.All the staffs there are young , polite and friendly. The location of the hotel is very suitable for exploring the ancient town of Baisha. The view of the snow mountain can be seen from the inner garden and more clearly from the third floor of the hotel.The room is comfortable with good quality bedsheet , blanket , towels and the heating floor. The breakfast is adequate with a set of chinese small dishes together with a choice of boiled rice or noodles. They provide free coffee all day with daily afternoon tea set and late night sweet soup and plum wine. I feel like I have nothing to ask more and wish to express my gratitude to all the staffs here. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all who need to receive impressive service from these lovely staffs.

While the facilities are adequate, the layout lacks privacy. For instance, to use the cabin's toilet, all curtains on the first level must be closed. Additionally, the toilet bowl is situated behind stairs without any curtains, potentially allowing others in the cabin to see. Moreover, the second-level flooring consists of planks with numerous gaps, providing visibility to the first level, including the bathtub and toilet bowl.
I strongly advise against booking this accommodation for families with children due to the safety risk posed by the sliding doors on the second level, which lack safety measures. While they offer a unique view of the mountain, the danger of potential falls is significant. If you do choose to consider it as a family cabin, I recommend checking with the staff to lock the doors from the outside for added safety.
Despite the unexpected aspects mentioned above, our overall stay was still decent. The staff were hospitable and helpful throughout our visit. Communication was convenient via WeChat for check-in details, recommendations, and self-checkout. It seems that the camping style of accommodation was a selling point, it’s definitely a unique stay. I’m sure there’s a specific crowd that would fully enjoy the experience.
