I am very disappointed with my room assignment. Before my arrival, I specifically requested rooms near the elevator and connecting rooms (or at least rooms close to each other) because I am traveling with my young children. Unfortunately, none of my requests were accommodated. Instead, I was assigned two separate rooms on different floors (2nd and 6th floors). To make matters worse, each floor requires a separate key card to access, making it extremely inconvenient and nearly impossible for my family to move between rooms. Additionally, one of the rooms is located at the very end of the hallway, far from the elevator, despite my request for a room nearby. These arrangements are the exact opposite of what I requested and create significant difficulties when traveling with children. I made these requests in advance because they are important for my family’s safety and convenience, yet they appear to have been completely overlooked.

It was great stay in lovely room conditons. Our family walked around the attractions happily even if it drizzled. The Malmaison York's staffs were very kind and the facility was very satisfactory to our family.

Great location, great room and great service keep it simple because it really is just a good hotel

Hotel was very centrally located just a few minutes walk from the Train station. Reception staff were helpful however didn’t tell us about the Sky Bar they had so we missed out on that as a result. The staff at breakfast however looked harassed and weren’t particularly attentive, to the point that it took 45 mins to get our cooked breakfast on our second morning. It was well cooked when it eventually arrived but the service not great. Room itself was fine but decor and furnishings looking a bit tired. Some of the lights were motion sensitive and came on randomly during the night and had to block the sensors, but overall very comfortable. Not sure we would book here again as there’s a lot of choice in York and better places to stay.

My Daughter and I enjoyed a very cosy and relaxing two nights at the Malmaison York.  Staff were kind and courteous and the breakfast was delicious

very convenient, just mins walk from the station and very reachable to the city centre

Great location for York. Lovely rooftop bar. Room clean and roomie. Reception staff very friendly. Just a recommendation - when booking in and reception give you your key card be good to put the “10% off food & drink” voucher in with it so you have it for the whole time of your stay. We only noticed a pike of cards on the reception desk when checking out - we could’ve saved quite a bit of money on our food and drink bill Still was a great place to stay.

Staff on reception very friendly and helpful. In the evening had to wait for bar staff as no one serving for a while.

Very nice Hotel. Parking is limted to only 7 pre bookable spaces.

The twin room was very small, the pillows were very thick and like boulders! Working out the lights situation in the room was tricky! The staff at reception were very good and friendly but the staff at breakfast were disinterested. Being able to store luggage during the days was very helpful and great location near the centre. It was average and not enough to tempt me to stay again.

The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff very good. The rooms are quite dated and ours wasn’t very clean.  On our 2nd day we went out at 9.30am and arrived back at the hotel at 16.30pm only to find our room had not been made up. The staff knocked on the door at approximately 5pm to make the room up. The evening meals we had were very good. Breakfast was good but had a long wait for it to arrive
