ParkPlaza Hotel Xining

I really like this hotel because it is very clean, pleasant, modern, and close to Xining station. The room is huge and the breakfast has many delicious options. When we had to leave the hotel early, we requested to have our breakfast packed, then the hotel did it for us. We really appreciate it. It is very good hotel.

One of the good hotels I have stayed in China especially when talking of “value for money”. Facility is clean, rooms are spacious (＜40 meters) with good amenities, service is good, the best part was the breakfast which I found to be a good balance of Chinese and English. Foriegners and people with dietary restrictions will have enough to eat. They also have kids play area on the top floor which my son enjoyed playing. Location is also good. 15 mins to the railway station by taxi. A shopping mall just 400 meters from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel if you are coming to Xining.

Spacious, clean and comfortable new hotel . Dinner in the restaurant was delicious . We loved the stir fried vegetable ,and chicken dish which was juicy and seasoned well. Thumbs up to the chef and also to the waiter and waitress who served us that night. This hotel was a great choice as a base for our Qinghai-Gandhi Grand Loop . I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Xining.

I lived there since this summer and their services are amazing and the food as well . The rooms are so clean and bright , I love the bathtub and the long sofa.

We will definitely book this hotel again if we ever pass through Xining. The staff were very professional and attentive to our needs. The room was spacious, clean and comfy. And we really enjoyed the restaurant’s food.

The room looked nice with fantastic lighting. The staff were all very nice. Great that free washers and dryers were available. Only downside was that each washer and dryer were a set, one does not work if the other one is still in use.

The room is very good.Perfect, perfect.

Awful air conditioning undermined an otherwise very good hotel.  It's astounding how bad the air conditioning was. It ran for hours are barely lower the tempterature. It never got below 25 Celsius. I arrived and the room was hot. The windows barely open. After hours of running the air conditioning, which is rather noisy, I gave up.  The staff was great. And room was otherwise good. But at this price, and positioning itself as a top hotel, useless air conditioning in hot weather (and it wasn't even the hottest time of year) is not acceptable.

I chose Park Plaza as it was convenient to both the train station and airport. The price was also excellent value for money. My train from Lhasa arrived at 6.30am and I caught a taxi the short distance to Park Plaza without issue. I checked in around 7am and was shown my room. It was beautiful, very spacious with a large window, and it also had a freestanding bath. Unfortunately I could smell cigarette smoke, which is not uncommon in Chinese hotels. I asked for a different room and was immediately shown one . This room was identical but the bed covers were a children's design and there were some toys and teepee in one corner . I simply folded the bright yellow covers down and had a lovely tasteful decor again. The bed was extremely comfy and the room was very quiet. The buffet was beyond excellent and the head chef and his small team were very friendly and attentive. Clearly they were very proud of their fabulous buffet and presentation....as they should be. It was my best in China.. I found a lovely walking trail behind the hotel beside the river, 5 mins away. The area in general was nice to wander around, very different from my stay in the centre of city when on my way to Tibet. I will most definitely choose Park Plaza when I return to Xining.
