Popular Xi＇an 4-star Hotels

Great location just a short walk to the Bell Tower and the Muslim Quarter, making halal food options easy to find. The hotel is clean and well-kept. Breakfast is basic, staff are polite, and while the room was a bit warm due to the fixed heater setting, it was still comfortable. Note that there’s no bidet in the toilet. Overall, a good choice for a short stay in Xi’an, especially if you prefer being within walking distance to key attractions.

Our trip to Xian and stay at Ramada Bell tower hotel was very comfortable as its location and service was just perfect the rooms were nice and clean and it is located centrally with walking distance to most of the attractions and Subways which can take you to Terra Cotta too. Our lovely host Mary Wong also made us feel very comfortable and went extra mile to make our stay comfortable and suggested good places to visit too.

Didn’t have opportunities to dining in at the hotel itself, since there are so many local food choices, but can definitely say that their customer services are among the top notches. Smooth check-in/out, free laundry amenities, conveniently located in the heart of Xi’an (Bell Tower area), which makes it easy to reach pretty much everywhere in and around Xi’an. Really appreciated Ningning’s help towards our laundry need! Believe me, laundry is equally an important part of our journey during our stay in China, since we were traveling during the summer time. Overall, it is a good lodging venue!

Our stay at Hesu Designer Hotel was absolutely lovely! The hotel is beautiful, with a great location near the center, making it convenient to explore the city. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. What truly stood out was the exceptional hospitality. Everyone at the hotel was incredibly nice and friendly, going out of their way to help us despite the language barrier, as we don’t speak Mandarin. A special shoutout to the front desk team and to Xiao Wang, who assisted us throughout our stay. The team made us feel so welcome, always offering us coffee and making sure we were comfortable. At the end of our stay, they even surprised us with a lovely gift (picture). The hotel also provided fantastic recommendations for attractions and restaurants, which made our trip so much easier and enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Xi’an!

The location is walkable to places but still a bit far and nothing much around the area.  The soundproof in the room was not great because I kept hearing the people next door banging their doors and I could hear the bells from the adjacent building.

This Novotel Xian Hotel is in a very strategic location near the MRT station, next to a mall and surrounded by restaurants and grocery stores. Love this place. Overall the service is good, there are only a few comments: * if you like going to karaoke or going to the cinema, then you will like the dimly lit room theme with very minimal lighting, unfortunately my family and I are not comfortable with minimal room lighting, the room is dark. * If you like going to the SPA to soak in hot and cold water, then you will like the unstable condition of the hot water for bathing (shower) because it sometimes flows hot and cold water alternately. Unfortunately, my family and I don't like going to SPA, so this condition is a little annoying. * The thing that is very disturbing is that THE ROOM HAVE NO AC (Air Conditioner)... I have asked the staff, the information is that the AC facilities have not been activated in April, and please open a small window if the room feels hot. I thought it was April Fool's Day, but it turned out that staying 3 nights without AC made me sleep uncomfortable because it was hot even though the window was open, not to mention the noise of traffic at night which disturbed my sleep. Maybe I was careless in not reading the information when booking this room, but it seems I didn't find clear information that there were no AC facilities in April. This is the first time in my life that I have stayed in a 4 star hotel or above that doesn't have AC, LOL. My advice to potential guests is to be careful if you want to book this hotel, better check and recheck. Breakfast so so, you can try Xian traditional food here.

The hotel is relatively new. Advertised name ”A-Tour” and actual hotel name is different, so hard to find on local DiDi app, or iphone map, but we worked it out eventually. Breakfast is half western with basic choices, coffee machine is a challenge and never not hot enough. Breakfast on the outside deck overlooking the wall was quite relaxing. Lots of shops around close, including Dairy Queen and several coffee shops just out the front, KFC, Pizza, Macca's and numerous good local restaurants within very a short walk. Rooms are big enough, comfortable and clean, the bed is soft, a big bonus to find in China in the budget range hotels. My opinion, it's a good choice as it's easy on the budget.

The hotel is conveniently located within the city walls, making it suitable for exploring Xi’an. While it’s not situated in the liveliest area—which some might see as a pro and others as a con—it’s only a 15-minute walk to the South Gate, a major landmark. At the South Gate, you can purchase a ticket for 54 RMB to access the city wall, where you can walk or cycle (bikes can be rented for 45 RMB for 3 hours). Bars along the wall open after 7 PM, adding to the experience. The hotel offers a Chinese breakfast, which is edible but sometimes served cold. The rooms provide a view, though not of the most interesting parts of the city. Convenience stores are located nearby. The bed is comfortable, but room cleanliness could be improved, as there’s visible fluff floating in the air. The room is spacious and cozy but dimly lit due to the lack of central lighting. The small bathtub is only suitable for sitting, and there’s a large gap between the bathroom door and the shower glass wall, which compromises privacy. The airport shuttle service is convenient but may take longer if multiple stops are required to pick up guests from other hotels. It’s advisable not to book a Terracotta Army tour through the hotel. Instead, call a Didi to the site and pay 80–100 RMB per person for a guide.

Facilities: Basically, everything is available, and there is also a self-service laundry room. There are outdoor tables and chairs on the top floor of the fifth floor, which is more suitable for chatting and viewing with three or five friends at night. Hygiene: The room is very clean and larger than the hotel style, basically there is nothing to complain about. Environment: The fifth floor is also relatively quiet, but the sound insulation effect is not particularly good, and the door rebounds with too much pressure, which makes people feel easily pressed. You can't go straight to the fifth floor, you need to take the stairs from the fourth floor. If you have large and heavy objects, it is best to live on the fourth floor and below. Turn right and walk a little way to Sajin Bridge when you go out of the hotel. A little further ahead is the subway station. The location is still very good. By the way, the room is designed without a bathroom door, which is a design that is not very understandable 🤔🤔. Service: The service is still very good. The aunt who cleans the room will greet people warmly when she sees them, and the front desk guy and the pretty girl are also very polite. A hotel worth staying in for the second time, and a souvenir was given before leaving, which is a paper-cut of a shadow play.

Pros - Perfect location, right in front of Xi'an bell tower, 10m from metro entrance. Great range of breakfast bar (starts at 7am) from chinese dishes, pastry, yogurt, soy milk, coffee, to local delights order counter as well. Taste good. Free tea break from 2pm to 4pm. Packed breakfast service with pastries available if unable to dine in due to super early trip schedule. Clean & comfortable bed. Room space is acceptable. All toiletrie, shampoo, body wash, toothbrush etc. were provided. Front desk responsive on feedback/enquiries. Having temporary luggage storage service after check out. Cons - Do Not Disturb button not functioning after taking out the room card. Cleaner in my room when we were temporarily out for breakfast and our belongings were exposed that time.
