White Horse Inn

We booked a table for 12pm for our family for Mothers Day. We were told that another booking was booked for our table at 2pm. We ordered our food shortly after arriving and noticed other tables that had arrived after us were getting their food. Ours didn’t arrive until after 1pm. We then ordered our desserts just after 1.30pm and were told we would have to eat them in the garden so they could get the table ready. We said that was t really acceptable and they wouldn’t budge. We cancelled our desserts and asked for the bill - which didn’t come, considering they wanted us out and our table! They were rude and inconsiderate to us as a nice family having a lovely Mothers Day with 3 generations of Mums. Even people on surrounding tables spoke to us and said how awful they were being. We won’t be going there again, which is a shame as the food was good and we were having a nice time until then.

We arrived Friday afternoon to find the Inn closed and we thought what have we done??? BUT they left us a key to our room and everything got better and better. The real star Richard chef, been there years and years .. and cooked the best breakfast !!! And al the staff were friendly amd Welcoming... Thank you and we so enjoyed the area and our visit to Nicky Henderson's !!!

We decided to try somewhere new to eat and we chose the White Horse at Woolstone. It's less than 20 minutes drive for us so , we were looking at it potentially becoming a new local eatery for us. We had a 6.30 table booked for our anniversary. Was very busy when we walked in and had to wait just to let someone know that we had a table booked. After getting our drinks we looked at the menu and the specials board. A nice choice of food was available and when it eventually arrived it was very nice. The downside was that it arrived just before 8pm and a wait of an hour for food is not acceptable to us. I could see that the two staff members were rushed off their feet and that they didn't have enough staff. I don't know if this was a one off, but I'm not sure if we will return again.

Charming country pub with overnight accommodation. Very friendly staff, good food and a hearty breakfast. Bedroom very clean and well maintained. Bathroom upstairs, bit of a shock to the system after a hot day walking the Ridgeway Thankyou for a very pleasant stay.

Fab stay in this hotel. We went with family so there were 10 of us. We had a double room with bathroom upstairs. Spotlessly, large, clean rooms with everything we needed. Bed really comfortable. Room had TV, tea making facilities, nice strong shower with plenty of hot water and a bath if you prefer to soak after a day walking the Ridgeway. There was also shampoo/body wash, conditioner, fluffy towels, hairdryer and brilliant little bedside lamps that had usb plugs in them for phone charging, We had a really nice meals including homemade pizzas which were tasty and reasonably priced. Nice selection of drinks and we ordered the picnics the next day (£10) and this was delicious too. Perfect, comfortable stay.

This pub/restaurant with accommodation, in a quiet picturesque little village, has bags of character. Lovely food. Clean modern rooms and en suites. Friendly helpful landlords and staff. Pet friendly. And located close to the Ridgeway Path for walkers, and various ancient sites for tourists. I had a lovely stay!
