Wondai Colonial Motel & Ivory's Restaurant

Have stayed here several times. It's a good basic hotel. Very clean and in a quiet location. Not bad sized rooms. The restaurant on-site always does great meals. Would stay here again. The owners are lo Ely and do their best to male you feel welcome.

The motel units are built around a rectangle that is surrounded by shrubs and hanging baskets of flowering plants which make a very welcoming entrance. The rooms are very spacious with a good-sized bathroom that is very clean and tidy. A comfortable bed and necessary amenities make for an outstanding stay. Mary Anne looks after the motel and is a lovely person with a professional and engaging manner. Also a great salesperson for local products. The motel has a nice looking swimming pool. We had our evening meal at the motel restaurant which was delicious and well presented and a bottle of local wine recommended by Mary Anne. A first class motel steered by a lovely lady.

Meal completely forgotten and arrived only when we asked where it was… no refund or discount provided. Absolutely ridiculous considering we were out for a family dinner, every person ate together, except one. When I brought it to that attention at payment I was advised “it was still a quality meal”. No - a late meal is not quality; it is in fact the opposite. Quality is not forgetting a meal; quality is providing the customer a discount when a meal is forgotten, as it is a mistake on the kitchens behalf not the customer. Safe to say we will not be returning - too expensive, no taste and obviously forgets meals. No thanks.

We stayed as part of a business trip and it was great. Nice clean large hotel rooms. We had dinner at their restaurant and the food and service were amazing. As first time guests our first names were used a lot. The owner is wonderful. Highly recommend as a stop.

While attending my mother's funeral this month family and friends stayed at the motel. Mary-Ann was so helpful, she couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. We had quite a few family members go to the restaurant after the funeral and the meals, and the service were wonderful. Rooms were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Mary-Ann even let us all have breakfast together in the restaurant the next morning which is usually not open then. Thanks for making our stay so pleasant in trying circumstances. Donna Britton
