What a find! Mere Brook house is a fine Victorian house, centrally located on the Wirral, in a lovely peaceful location, yet close to Chester and the M53. We had a spacious and elegantly furnished room with an extremely comfortable king bed. There are views of the garden and adjacent farm, and you can see Wirral rugby club, from the window of the ensuite. We enjoyed sitting in the oak panelled lounge, and breakfast in the conservatory. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was very enjoyable

We were lucky enough to stay for two nights in this beautiful house and from the moment we arrived we felt genuinely welcomed. The staff were all so friendly and our room was really comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the ‘help yourself’ breakfast set up. There was nothing we didn’t like about Mere Brook House and we will 100% be recommending to friends and family.

Great location, peaceful and relaxing surrounded by fields. Drove into the beautiful grounds to be greeted by our wonderful host Lawrence who was both welcoming and informative. We loved it here. Downside…We had only booked for 1 night. Will definitely be returning

Read the reviews on trip advisor and thought we would give it a try. Definitely not disappointed! From the moment we booked we were kept informed on our stay. The room was beautiful overlooking the well kept gardens. Fantastic staff who made us feel very welcome. Lawrence even gave us a taxi number for our evening out. Lovely continental breakfast and endless supply of tea & coffee. Nothing was to much trouble! Stunning house tucked away in magical gardens .we well definitely return!

I was already excited for this stay and the actual stay surpassed my expectations. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the grounds were lovely in the sun. Easy check in and the bath was my favourite part. Really felt like a treat staying here and would happily go back.

Celebrated our wedding here. We took over all the rooms for our guests and we were married in the small ballroom. Our small wedding consisted of 24 guests, most of who stayed over for two nights. This is an authentic country house and has seven bedrooms. All are en-suite, well equipped and very comfortable. The gardens are delightful. Sarah looked after all the wedding arrangements and ran the event in a highly professional manner, with great attention to detail. Everything was perfect. Breakfast was outstanding with a wide range of freshly cooked hot food, cereals, fruit etc. Sarah arranged for trusted outside caterers to produce our post wedding meal. This was first class throughout. Our guests had the run of the house and gardens throughout. The weather was perfect. We had a wonderful stay. The staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend this venue for smaller functions, such as weddings and other celebrations.

We booked two rooms, originally one in the main house and one in the coach house, but we were fortunately offered an upgrade to stay together in the coach house. We arrived later after dinner, it was a bit difficult to navigate from the car park and worked through the lock box and keys but we got it in the end. The staff called to confirm that we were fine, which was thoughtful. We wished we have arrived earlier to enjoy the nicely decorated place. We chose to stay in the Queen Bee Room and the Flora Room. We adore the quality and taste in furnishing the place, it was an enjoyable stay. We felt like living in a National Trust property, especially given that there is a description of the history of the property through generations, in the introductory booklet in the room. The self-served breakfast was good, it would be even lovelier if eggs and sausages can be offered! We were just staying for the night when visiting Liverpool but feels like this can be a hideaway stay for family gathering.

What a find! And you never know if you’ve really booked the right accommodation for you……. Thank you ALL ( particularly Lawrence, Jo and Keith) for treating me as if I was a special guest ( which I wasn’t!) and tending to my every need. I would most certainly recommend Mere Brook to folk and return myself, in the future.

A hidden gem (for me)! Very convenient location, easy to find from the motorist but set in peaceful countryside. The place itself is an impressive country house in beautiful grounds, the bedrooms were very comfortable and well-maintained, facilities all good and a good selection for breakfast. Really happy with our stay here!
