My wife booked this property through booking dot com. We were charged (twice!) several days later even though our booking did not require prepayment. I called the hotel about the charges, and when I asked for a manager the person on the other end of the phone would not identify themselves, dropped an F bomb at me and hung up. Later I got a call from another individual who only identified himself by name (Hi Mike!) and refused to give me his title. He attested that because one line in the software said zero, they could not have charged us. However, the line item on my bank account is their hotel, and the phone number it included must be their hotel software provider. I had to cancel my card because I can’t be sure someone else doesn’t have it. But if someone else does have it they know enough to use ‘Stay Berkshire’ as for the charge. So this place has two obvious problems. They are either really insecure with personal data, (the charges were fraud,) OR they have no idea how to use their own system, (the charges were in error.) Either case is serious, which is why I asked for a manager, which leads to the second problem. Have you ever called a hotel that wouldn't Identify itself? That’s a lack of respect for the guest, and pride in the job. If they have so little respect for their customers and so little pride in their work, what else are they half-assing? Are the sheets clean? How about the breakfast food? When was the last time the breakfast chafing dishes were washed? For real? I would not risk staying at a place that cared so little about the reason they are in business.
