Villa Tokara Boutique Hotel

A lovely hotel. Parking is in their gated lot, not on the street. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had the upstairs suite. Only the bedroom is air conditioned. Both the bedroom and the sitting room are very large. The lighting was too dim for my taste, except for in the bathroom. The bathroom doesn't have a door between it and the sitting room. I am told that this is a trend in many places to give the illusion of more space. There are five restaurants essentially next door. We tried four of them Mosa/Cana, Serafina, Bklyn, and Rosedael's(?) All very good, Mosa/Cana being my favorite with Serafina a very close second. Short walk to other restaurants, and the Queen Emma Bridge.

What a little gem Villa Tokara is! A beautiful historic house within walking distance to many good restaurants and nightlife. We were there with our 18 year old and enjoyed it. Had the 2 bedroom suite which was great space for us. Staff is there from 8-11am each morning and very nice and helpful at arranging airport transfers, rental cars, suggestions. Pool is wonderful and you can access beach across the street via a day pass at Avila Beach Resort if you want, but to do that RESERVE AHEAD OF TIME - they were sold out when we arrived so we had no walking distance beach option. It was fine because we had a car and there are so many beautiful beaches, but just be aware if it's something you want. Sal The Kitchen is a GREAT restaurant next door, we ate there twice. Also Kome was excellent restaurant and a very short and easy walk. Breakfast spots nearby were good and a short 10 mins walk (Bijblauw and Van Gogh). If you are looking for a place with full time front desk and restaurants on site, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a quiet oasis close to everything and like to walk as we do, then don't hesitate to book. A truly wonderful spot.

My husband and I had an amazing one-week stay at Villa Tokara. The hotel is quiet and private. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The pool was wonderful and the grounds were pretty. Before our visit, the hotel arranged for our airport pick-up and car rental. The most outstanding feature of Villa Tokara was the hospitality shown to us by the hotel manager. He warmly welcomed us and gave us fantastic advice about restaurants, beaches, and island attractions. Our first visit to beautiful Curacao was made perfect because of his guidance.

I am just completing my fifth day here at Villa Tokara. It is immensely quiet and an ideal place for a solo traveler, or a couple looking for good value. The staff are here for several hours in the morning and are very helpful in arranging everything from a car rental, restaurant reservations, experiences on other parts of the island. The pool is a very nice size and is well kept. The rooms are large, charming, and clean with good staff that takes care of the rooms. Raffi and the team of two other women, depending on the day are warm and conversational. The hotel is very well located, with nearby, restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner Sal and Mosacana restaurants are right next door and merit a visit. This is less than an optimal spot for families with children where greater stimulation, a beach and restaurant would be important. However, there is a beach across the street at the hotel there I would definitely return here.

My best friend and I stayed for a long weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday. We loved our stay! The villa is beautiful and close to restaurants. We had a delicious breakfast at the villa one day and a boat ride with Arriën another day. We were so happy with everything! Can’t wait to come back to Curaçao and stay again.

This property was a historical and peaceful oasis in the midst of Willemstad. It is a gorgeous house with a pool I could swim laps in. My wife and I considered staying at the Avila across the street, but after seeing it and staying at Takara, we were absolutely pleased that we made the choice we did. Owner Arrien is without a doubt one of the best hosts we have ever experienced. His ever present smile, and positive energy and his willingness to respond to our every need made our stay exceptional.
