The Avon

Had tea at the Avon after a walk on 26/12/2024 the staff were pleasant even though the tea/ coffee order was mixed up it was rectified quickly .however when I went to use the disabled bathroom off the coffee area the condition of it was beyond filthy I almost vomited and can’t only describe the toilet facility as disgusting. it clearly had not been checked for some time. We left as soon as we could and will avoid the place in future. The customers there included older people children etc. we have been to the Avon numerous times but never again! No attention to cleanliness certainly not in that toilet.

30 of us attended for a sales meeting in morning and room was perfect. Breakfast baps on arrival, facilities perfect. After business session we had lunch and then met the gang for 2 hours of team building events (after ordering our burgers and pizza for later) events were great fun and really well run and team couldn’t have been nicer . Fun and attentive. Then after 2 hours we all collected our food and ate it on the balcony. Weather was great, which helped but couldn’t speak more highly of the whole day. It was perfect

I held an event at the Avon venue on Saturday. I was so impressed by the venue and the staff. Having held lots of retreats in various hotels and locations it is safe to say I had never had one go as smoothly. Nothing was a problem. After ringing around many hotels to find a place I finally was recommended to try you guys. Kirsty answered and I've rarely spoke with someone as helpful. She was so helpful and efficient it was a no brainer to book in. On the day and the day before I met with Orla who was a SAINT! Anything I needed was no problem and all I needed to do was explain what I might need and off she went and made sure it was done. I can't tell you how much I appreciated it. Her manner was so pleasant, kind and helpful. And she went out of her way to show me a walk I could take my retreat group on. The views from the room we held our event were out of this world. The staff in the restaurant were also incredible, there was one lady with sort of reddish hair (sorry I didn't get a name) who was just incredible also. Just really wanted to help and was just phenomenal at looking after all of my guests. Again I can't tell you how much I appreciated this. The food was fantastic! In the past I've got feedback from other hotels where the staff have been rude and unhelpful which is disappointing as the retreats are of a sensitive nature but everyone raved about this venue. I would absolutely recommend you to others and hope to come back again soon for another retreat.
