We had a lovely night here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, all the more enjoyable for the break from the car troubles we had on our journey! Having booked the additional Cellar Door wine tasting, the car troubles meant we were going to be arriving late - spoke to Steve who said it was no problem, he could delay the start of the wine tasting (it was only us booked on) and what's more, they could give us a lift back to our car the following morning! We were then able to relax and fully enjoy a very informative wine-tasting while learning about the history of the place (and quite some history it is!). The blush sparking wine proved a real hit when we took a bottle to my parents, and we also enjoyed the 2022 white with our meal that night. It's a family-run business - we didn't meet Steve's son, the chef, but his cooking was superb. We started in the bar, where there was a good selection of local bottled beers, as well as the vineyard's wine and a wide selection of gins among the usual bar offerings. We then thoroughly enjoyed our 3-course dinner and a lighter breakfast the next day. Nicole looked after us brilliantly in the dining room - not overbearing, but attentive. Our room was lovely. We chose to stay in Willow room in the annexe. Compared to chain hotel rooms, it's smaller, but it didn't matter. The bed and pillows were really comfortable, there were luxury toiletries, a coffee machine and fresh milk in the fridge at the entrance to the annexe. All these small things really made our stay hugely enjoyable. Unfortunately we had to get back to our car early the next morning, so didn't have a chance to explore our surroundings, but we'll definitely be back! Thank you to everyone for a wonderful stay.
