Not a single electrical plug work. and the entire building smelt like my grandmas living room and she’s been lying dead there for 25 years

Booked a twin room for 3 nights for the purpose of attending a 3 day music festival. None of the keys we were given fitted the front door. After phoning guest services we were given a variety of codes for a emergency key safe none of which worked. We were then given a code for a cupboard lock. We had to seek help from another resident as the lock was high up in a corner with no light. None of the keys inside the lock fitted the door. The end result for that night was waiting in the property for a locksmith and missing the first night of the festival. I phoned guest services again Saturday morning and explained that we had no food or beverage and moreover still had no key. A locksmith attended about 3pm and informed us that he had been telling the owners that more keys were needed. He also told us the emergency key box was broken which was why None of the codes worked. He changed the box and gave us a key. We also missed the afternoon show. The place was dirty and we never saw a cleaner. We only had hot water on the Saturday morning. Sunday and Monday we had to wash in cold water. We have asked for reimbursement for the 2 music sessions lost, not to mention the £28 key deposit for a key we didn't have!

Stay away avoid like the plague! Booked way in advance for competitive price, then on arrival of a long waited family holiday on a Bank holiday Monday, we arrived to find an absolute filthy room with stains on sheets, towels on the floor, food on the floor, the room wasn't cleaned to say the least. We contacted the booking agent who after one hour left us stranded to give us full refund hopefully the following day. We were meant to stay 3 nights and the property cancelled the all week on us after an hour without trying to help us absolutely shocking!

This is now a rooms only accommodation. Most rooms do not have en-suite. Room 2 has a bathroom down 2 flights of stairs! The room (no.3) and our separate bathroom were clean. Had issue with the towels smelling funky when wet, but I had taken my own. You get in using a code for the lockbox outside the door - no problem with that. Husband had concerns about getting out in a fire, no signage on our floor. All rooms were non smoking with fire sensors, yet someone in Room 1 was smoking. WiFi was good, as was the heating. The property is in a good area close to westcliff. Recommend take Eye mask, as fire sensor flashes all the time Own towels Sensible shoes! (To walk around Whitby)

Tried to book this place back in July for November had an email saying unable to confirm the booking, so I booked else where and they have taken the money and will not refund it 😡😡😡 absolute shambles with zero care given I’m £120 plus out of pocket and will not refund despite no confirmed booking

On arrival noticed shower rail broke .heating not working in bathroom. Lighting failed on last night . Notified management . No one came out till following day. Front door would not open us and another couple had to exit rear door with luggage .good job cleaner was there to help us .

I couldn't rate this as a place to stay , did not receive the code for our room until the day after we arrived, we managed to work out our access code by asking another guest their code number just as they left the property to look for another place to stay as their room hadn't been cleaned after other guests had a dog that slept on the bed ,her husband was allergic to dog hair it stated that it was ensuite our bathroom was down a flight of stairs the windows had not been cleaned for a very long time ,on the plus side the room was clean . Other guests arrived and they couldn't get in either,they had to pay a holding deposit but needed to send photo ID their daughter made the booking for them so they had no ID they had to find alternative accomodation .

The picture advertising this room shows a clean, white and modern room, overlooking the town. The reality was a smelly, sub-standard 1970s room, overlooking a road, with a damp patch on the wall and curtains that were falling off the rail. The 'private bathroom' (forgive me for even imagining it might be en-suite or at least close by), was down a flight of stairs on the other side of the building, with a dirty shower, and it was just up from the front door - that was broken and would not lock, so not private, because anyone could have walked in. We were also locked out twice, due to the faulty front door lock; we had to sit in the street (after driving all day) and call their helpline numbers (the number shown on the sign outside the guesthouse doesn't work) to try and gain admission. Eventually got to speak with a real person and after lengthy details were told the transaction was in fact being dealt with by a 'trusted partner' (Prim Short Stays) and had to dial another number. The Prim agent told us we could not have the pass code to get inside until we had completed guest information check in lists - which we didn't have because the check-in form had not been sent in time - by Vrbo and that we had to pay an additional £25 - which we were not expecting and was not mentioned when we 'paid in full' according to the advert, 6 weeks earlier. This apparently £25 would not be taken but just held - however, it has gone out of my bank account and has not been returned (currently 14 days later). The attached photos show the state of the room and the vicinity of the bathroom - attached. We were promised to be refunded, re-accommodated, but neither happened . I asked both times I had lengthy text messages with a (different each time) agent, that the conversations be emailed to me. This has not happened. I could go on to list all the things that were broken, or just not there, from the unkempt front 'garden' to the lack of anywhere to hang or store clothes. The only positive thing I could say is that the guesthouse is central. Otherwise, totally disappointing and unless you like to pay good money for sub-standard accommodation, and very poor service, then steer clear. PS I have waited to post this in case the agents respond and I can improve the score. A week has passed and neither Vrbo nor Prim Short Stays has replied to my many email and phone messages, sent in the interim. I am neither rude, nor angry in my messages, simply descriptive. Very poor.

Very disappointed, First impression is the front garden full of weeds spilling onto pavement.The room is very stark/ bare not a picture on plain white walls grubby carpet dark grey towels navy bedding can't tell if its clean only one very flat pillow per bed.The bathroom is across the hallway Could not shower as no hot water in shower or sink had to boil kettle in bedroom carry to bathroom sink for wash You might think why not complain Nobody answers the phone or reply to emails found this out when trying to gain entry on arrival The edges of the stairs covered in thick dust Thank goodness only booked for two nights
