Anchorage House

A fantastic B&B - We actually stayed in August 2023 but didn't get around to reviewing. Liked - Great host that greeted us and explained breakfast etc and showed us to our room. Couldn’t fault the room. Room had tea, coffee, biscuits fresh milk and water in the mini fridge and breakfast is a basket full of a selection (you choose the day before) of cereals, pastries, toasts, yogurts, eggs and juices brought up to your room to enjoy at your leisure - I love this concept. A short walk to the harbour, great location. Disliked - the room was really hot through the night but we should have enquired about the fan (there was a small fan heater in our room but I wasn’t sure if it was just a heater or not so didn’t put it on).

I cannot fault this lovely place, Mick the owner was so welcoming and friendly. He told us the best restaurants to eat at, the room was soo beautiful we stayed in the deluxe room, very clean and the bed was the comfiest I’ve slept in. We got our breakfast this morning to our room and it came in the cutest basket everything was so nice we would both highly recommend this place and we will definitely be going back.

We stopped over the Bank Holiday weekend as it was our wedding anniversary. The hosts were very welcoming and we we given good advice for meals and what to visit. I liked the spacious rooms with breakfast table and a sitting area. Also had a feature fireplace which was a nice touch. The breakfast was delivered in a basket and was plentiful and varied. Very good all around.
