Ashville Guesthouse

We received a very warm, friendly welcome when we arrived and , hearing that we were cold, the landlady turned the heating on for us. The guesthouse is situated on a road out of the main centre of Westport and on our first evening the landlady kindly gave us a lift into town! The second evening we walked into town, which took about 30 mins. It was downhill, but on a busy road without pavements. Each evening we caught a taxi back, which cost 6 Euros. The room was a little disappointing. The floor was of laminate, which made it cold and the furniture was dated. The bathroom was small and again dated, but the shower was very hot and powerful. We were asked what time we would like breakfast, but when we said 8.00am, we were told it didn't start till 8.30am! Again the ambience of the breakfast room was dated. The breakfast choices were fresh fruit, cereal, juices and a cooked breakfast with toast, tea and coffee. It was well cooked. The free wifi didn't work in our room, which was frustrating. We were able to use it on the landing, where there was a seat. Overall, the guesthouse was comfortable and suited our needs.

We stayed one night at Ashville and had two rooms for our family of four. The rooms were spacious and quiet and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with numerous options for all. The owners were kind enough to give us input on our plans for the area and even printed out a helpful map. We would definitely go back and recommend highly. Our only regret was booking just one night.

Our stay at Asheville Guesthouse was amazing. Host Hilary and Oliver were warm and welcoming, making us feel like family. The B&B has everything you need and more: comfort, cleanliness, a gorgeous Irish breakfast, and many special touches. The hosts are local and offered great recommendations. They booked us into a lovely dinner and arranged for a taxi. They really know how to take care of their guests. Westport town is one of my favorite places in Ireland and I can’t wait to come back and stay at this B&B year after year. Highly recommended

We had a lovely stay at Ashville Guesthouse. The room was very comfortable and was big, bright and clean!! Hilary and Oliver couldn't do enough for us, and gave us taxi numbers and great recommendations for the area. We had the full Irish breakfast which was fresh and delicious, loads of toast and plenty of tea and juices too! Couldn't recommend the place enough, we'll definitely be back!!

Excellent place to stay in Westport! The hosts were very welcoming and gave greta advice on what to do and see etc. WiFi available. Lots of car parking space. TVs in bedrooms. Delicious cooked breakfasts made to order as well as cereals and fresh fruit/yoghurt. Beds very comfortable and rooms spacious. Plugs right beside bed - good for phone charging. Hilary and Oliver gave us a warm welcome and gave great suggestions for places to visit. The bedroom was spacious with all that we needed provided. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfasts were so tasty: delicious fresh fruit, breakfast cereals and very tasty cooked eggs and tomatoes. We were very well looked after. I would highly recommend this lovely guesthouse. First class.
